I've owned this since march and I have been pleased with it, thankfully I have not had to rely on any of the footage but have reviewed various clips and the quality is pretty good. The app is a little quirky to navigate but once set up I found it easier to just remove the memory card and view the files on the laptop. The other quirk I have noticed with it is the voice commands are a bit hit and miss. Quite often you'll be having a conversation while driving and you'll hear "Sound recording deactivated" it would appear that its picking up phonics as part of the conversation. For the money I think it represents pretty good value. I dont drive that much annually but often do longer trips to Cornwall, France, Scotland etc so it's worth noting that if you are driving at peak times in city centres often you might want something more sophisticated. For me this has been worth the money.

You gotta buy at least £100 plus camera, for example blackvue is quite good and not that expensive. This is entirly my opinion, so dont bother arguing me.... And i would never buy branded memorycards, always buy same brand cards, as for example blackvue works farmore years without fail when used with blackvue card. I know it is more expensive but Same brand memory card is a must in my opinion.

I've got the pro version of this with the higher-res sensor and GPS module.

Great image quality and the app works great for more detailed viewing!

Not only that, when fullfilled you would get your device sooner than from china. Personally I would go for a different dashcam - Blueskysea B1w whcih is smaller and has a supercapacitor so better long term.
The Pro and the Lite are also on offer.

You can get the Lite with free GPS on 11.11 for £31.50

Thinking about buying to put on the back window of car. Already got a Pro on the front.

Anybody know if the GPS module that comes with the Lite is the same as the Pro?

I think if you connect it to the app it will auto detect the language on your phone. That's how it works for many Xiaomi products so worth a try?
Mine is always playing up. Takes lots of pictures due to the people on the radio mentioning the word. Keeps switching off and telling me that there is no power, then it works fine for several days. Don't know whether to give up and replace.
If you are looking for a good value reliable dashcam I have fitted 4 A119's in our cars Mrs and 2 kids cars) and also another 3 in friends.

They are excellent vfm and have had absolutely no reliability issues providing, like all camera's, you chose the right SD card.

I have had dash camera's on my cars for the past 8 years or so and have tried many from most brands and these have been the longest I've kept them without feeling the need to change for better ones.

Plenty of cheap cameras about but reliability is paramount for me, the last thing I would want is an incident to go unrecorded.
can voice activation be turned off completly?

I've had a few with GPS and in fact I have the GPS mounting base for my current A119 but removed it as I really don't see the benefit other than speed which tbf I on't want stamping on the footage in any case.

That's the one although it's the latest V3, I bought a V2 in September for my daughters car for just over £50 iirc.
I'd get this straight away if it had a rear view parking feature.
Any addons with which the rear view would be recorded, or would I need to buy a second one just for the rear?
does any hardwire kit works with it or you have to get same brand?

Surely if someone accuses you of speeding and says that's what caused the crash you'd have no evidence to say otherwise?

The speed can be calculated from the video if necessary, and in fact that's a more reliable method than a GPS speed log (which could easily be faked).

I have had a few capacitor cams and they have stopped keeping time and date. I was actually considering switching back to battery again.

But can it read registration plates, that is the question?

I can read reg plates from the video. It records upto 2k Res at 30fps.
Voice activation?

Is that so I can shout "did you catch that p**** who just cut me up? "...

But on the flip side if you are innocent of an accident but we're doing 34 in a 30 zone you may be accused of speeding which may not help your case. If, on the other hand, it did not display the speed then there wouldn't be an issue.

I just grabbed one as well at the last minute of the lightning deal.

The last cam I had (blackvue) cost me over £300, It was good but I stupidly left it in my part ex last month and don't want to spend that much again. The viofo a119 v3 looks to have quite a lot of good reviews.

You couldnt ask for it back, it was your property? Or did they give the ol' its "missing Sir" routine?

I suggest these cams to everyone, last feb 2018 had the "it wasnt my fault aka 50-50" which was then moved onto reviewing footage and full responsibility taken by them.

This camera does show the registrations.....

I've had this for probably about two years now, no faults at all.
Used it to get my excess refunded swiftly after a guy in a rental van just decided to stop on a main road, reverse into my and drive off.

You're better off getting a high quality memory card with decent storage size and write speeds.

You don't sell 'Blackvue' cameras and accessories by any chance do you?

You can just stick this in the rear window instead.
It wont connect to this camera, just means you have two.
I have the Pro version on order for the front of the car but I'm considering this for the rear but concerned if the Electrotatic sticker will be in the way of the vision as the hatchback rear window is near vertical. I assume I can stick without it but as there are heater elements in the glass it may get damaged when i remove it.

Can someone confirm if the electristatic sticker will obsure the view if mounted on a near vertical window?

Thanks
