From what I can see wear OS hammers batteries, I can't see any devices that run it that last more than a few days? I guess it all depends what you want, but my priorities are sports tracking and a long time between charges which no wear OS device I can find offers.

If only they'd make these thinks synch to strava without messing about in third party apps!

I've read a few reviews about the GPS, and the most interesting point made to me was that it was as bad as a bip. Now my bip is great with clear skies, only gets a little off when I'm under tree cover and even then it may plot me a meter away from the path I'm on so no big deal. I regularly hike with someone that uses a garmin and there is very little in it.

Agree battery life on a smart watch is probably the most important thing, if your not at home regularly to charge it etc.
It doesn't really have to run proper full on Wear but manage to run the Google Pay app for example like it runs Alipay for the Asian market.
Can you make calls on this?
I have this also, my GPS is fine

Yeah, payment would be nice. I guess for me the essentials are:

- Battery (1 week heavy use minimum)
- GPS
- Heart rate monitoring
- Strava support

Ideally I'd also want:
- Payments
- Onboard music
- Always on screen (like the bip)

No you can't unfortunately, you can't even reply to messages etc I believe.

I have the 42mm and it auto syncs to Strava, there is a setting in the Amazfit app to do this, you need to get a token from your strava account. Usually is on strava within a couple of minutes of syncing with Amazfit. When I received it in early september the GPS accuracy was very poor, especially with auto pause on (it would unpause and go for a little virtual trip while i was standing still), but a recent update seems to have made the accuracy considerably better than it was, though I have only tested it on three or four outings since the update so can't say for certain.
I have the 47mm alloy grey version and it is street's ahead of the Fossil Sport I also have.. 1st charge lasted 25 days compared with less than 24hrs for the Sport! GPS seems to work fine and the display is great.. Just ordered the Stainless version here as well.. After owning half a dozen wearables the Amazfit BIP and GTR are right up there!
Battery life is a good 3-4weeks depending on usage

Just looked and you're right, I'd never seen that setting before! I've only recently moved to the amazfit app from mi fit, I'll be out for a run before work on Monday so will test it then. Thanks!
How is the battery life on the 42mm?
Anyone can comment on heart rate accuracy during exercise? Has any one compared it to an HR belt?
Reason I am asking is the Stratos is abysmally inaccurate and no good for serious exercise.

How is the battery life on the 42mm?

Battery life for me has been about a week between charges, i have all notifications turned off, the continuous heart rate on and it includes around 4 hours of exercise with GPS. Unfortuantely this afternoon the screen stopped working, which is a real disappointment - i got it from gearbest so i'm not terribly confident at my chances for getting it replaced.

Update next morning... I found a YouTube video where the comments said to press both buttons for 30 seconds and it's working again!
