Good price for the scooter but as you point out, the average person who uses one of these seems to have no responsibility, like riding it at 10mph+ down a pedestrian path and making people move out the way or as I had, taking evasive action when pushing a pram. Cyclists riding on the pavement are bad but at least they seem to have some control because they have to provide the movement themselves. Unfortunately some people will take it too far then the responsible and considerate ones suffer.
The comments never fail to provide entertainment
To be fair to backslider, I had a go on one of these last week, and I died to death. So it's not all fun and games.

I really hope these don't take off again. Damn near lost my life to one of these whilst I was simply walking down the street once.

Yeah but by any chance were you one of these pedestrian who walk all legally down the path but are completely unaware of what’s going on around because they don’t look where they are going their heads glued to the mobile phone screen?

No, it came from behind at a high rate of speed and I was walking along side a busy road, so I couldn't hear the thing coming from behind. It grazed past me at max speed, scared me half to death.

That was the point in my previous post, to which someone responded that it was boring, so the point of posting the image was to provide some excitement.
These were very popular in Munich when I was there

Sounds like a pedestrian behaving perfectly legally in a place where they ought to be protected by law from motorised vehicles (and even non-motorised ones like bicycles).
We are all in it together guys... police are out for every electric vehicles

The UK is behind the times on this, just for a change. But the real issue to the govt is how they can tax it.

Mobility scooters are legal most places, but not motorways (nor are bicycles or pedestrians).

I believe if electric scooters are used in cities instead of cars then …I believe if electric scooters are used in cities instead of cars then many lives would be saved.Obviously electric cars would also solve this problem however given current prices this isn’t immediately practical for the majority.

Electric bicycles are legal and don't cost much more than one of these illegal escooters.
I'm sure an electric scooter had an affair with Backslider's wife

Even if they were they shouldn't have to jump out the way because of someone moving at high-speed on a self-propelled scooter. So what's your point here?

Honestly if people used them responsibly, pedestrians probably wouldn't care. Midday weekend in a shopping area - no. Late evening down a wide, quiet path - probably fine.

Saw two in Greenwich, admittedly in the road when I saw them. It was raining hard the cars were queuing people were coming out of the DLR trying to get home. These guys were shouting at people trying to cross through the rain and traffic. Like E Hooligans!
Thinking of getting one of these and a DJI drone for Christmas, how will people react, will I be very popular?
