Ordered one three weeks ago, took less than 2 weeks to arrive. Battery life is mental. Unplugged since 6 am normal use still 91%
Been holding out for the moto g6

Any reason I shouldn't get this instead?

SD625 vs SD450
6.44 vs 5.7
5300 vs 3000 mAh

is the price difference justifiable?
Good specs for the price but in reality the camera is awful. So blurry and you would need plenty of light to take good pics in out doors.
Posting this on a Mi Max 2. The phone is as good as any at three times the price

Did you get yours from their ebay store or direct from their website? Just wondering how you had it shipped and how it arrived, as there has been a massive increase in eGlobalCentral sales recently, as with the eBay sales, you have a lot more protection and the items *appear* to be arriving about 3 times quicker than they normally ship

Look like a hell of a lot of Phablet for the money, just a shame again, about the 800Mhz band 20 missing for EE & anyone that uses their masts for LTE in the uk!

Seems there are a few really good reasons at this price level, fab comprehensive video of all aspects of the device here..

Why do people keep posting these deals for Xiaomi phones?! I thought I’d narrowed my choice down but this one’s in the mix now...
Narrowed it down to Mi max 2, Redmi note 5 or Mi 5s plus. Which is the best of these 3?

Nice to see the EE forum staff, giving out the right technical info as usual!

Yes it will *work* on the ee network, using 3G and 1 single band of the 3 (( band 7 2600Mhz )) LTE (( known as 4g )) bands they transmit on, which is the most important UK, band 20.

This 800Mhz bandwidth is the biggest they own and they cannot buy anymore or any knit bands in this years coming 5g spectrum, this particular import asian model will NOT work on 800Mhz

The wrong question is asked there.
The question should be, will Mi Max 2 receive Band20/800MHz frequency broadcasted by any Network?

The phone is compatible and will work with all the UK networks. It just doesn't pick up one of the frequencies used (band 20) and if you/your network doesnt heavily rely on Band 20, you will not notice the difference.

I've had a Moto G4 and a G5. Both have been good phones until less than 12 months in: screen burn in, poor battery life and unresolvable issues with certain Google apps (e.g. Google search throws up blank results). (My wife's G4 has the same problems.)
I've decided not to bother getting another Moto phone after these disappointments.

I got a Mi Max 2 in December and it's amazing: the battery lasts ages (even with very heavy use I've never got the battery down to <40%), it's an incredibly fast phone for the price, the screen is great (though it's a big phone, but you do get used to it).
Downsides: miui is not stock Android at all. Once you are used to it, it's ok but there are some problems (Google assistant won't speak search results unless the default language is set to American).
I find that the camera is almost as good as the Moto G5, and I'm happy enough with the photos.

Thanks. I was on the g5, quite happy with it until it started to slow up fairly recently

I dropped it in water and am now on a Moto G that was lying around the house. I can't take it much longer

EE only use Band 20 for VOLTE and 4G support in rural areas. If you don't need VOLTE and don't live out in the sticks, 4G will work fine.

How do i know if I need VoLTE? I’m on BT at the moment and have 4G most of the time but how would I know if it’s using the 4G for LTE?

VOLTE is Voice Over LTE, and routes calls over the a data connection. As far as I know, BT don't allow this, so if you're on BT and can make calls as normal, then you don't need it.

Thanks. I’ve just had a thought actually. I used my old iPhone 5 for a couple of months recently. That doesn’t support band 20 and I had no issues with that so I’m thinking I’ll be ok with this

According to the Op, it has the global rom, but I can't see it anywhere on the listing. I'd contact the seller just to be sure.

I ordered mine directly and paid through PayPal. I used economical tracked shipping and didn't have to pay any import tax

You want the global rom pre instead if you can. You can do it yourself but it will save some hassle if it's already done.

Having had every Motor G since birth, I can say that I agree. Blxxey awful phones. Every one has had battery issues. Every, single one. No matter how many times I sent them.back, I still had the same issues. I got agonised to them that I continually upgraded though. Frankly, you take a chance on any handset - no guarantees, so, might as well grab q Chinese one!

A bit of a confusing post that. If you are talking about EE then it is incorrect. This device is compatible with B3 (1800MHz) and B7 (2600MHz) but not B20 (800MHz). EE mainly use B3 - they have by far and away the biggest amount of B3 (2x45MHz) which is 3 times more than Three and VF/O2 have zero. Yes they also have 2x35MHz of B7 but this is only used in city centres for a capacity boost. EE only have 2x5MHz of B20 and use this mainly for VoLTE, so not having B20 is a downer for this device but EE and Three users can still get usable LTE but VF/O2 users will be left on 3G.
Had this phone since September and on EE in Northern Ireland . Always have 4g at between 10-50Mbps
