Heated. Shame about the the B20, but if you don't need it then this is an incredible deal. I would've got this in a second, if I wasn't on EE.

EE is fine without band 20 its o2 that relies on it the most for 4G just so you know

I'm on BT (EE network) and I've had a mi Max (no band 20) and I've never had any connection issues, I live in rural Scotland and the 4G speed is 30 to 50 Mbps.

Tempted, however the added customs charges are putting me off. Heat nonetheless

I've ordered 2 Xiaomi Mi A1 last week from TomTop, £154 each when you factor in the cashback.

One's for me and one's for my daughter who's with Vodafone. I suppose I could just sell mine on eBay and grab this instead.

Where's sam when you need him? He'd never comment about the lack of band 20 without trying to kick the deal into the weeds too

Looks like a cracking deal to me!

So if anyone wants to know how much band 20 matters - While all networks utalise band 20 to some degree, only o2 rely on it primarily for 4G. ( I think some areas use band 3 but its few and far between hence why I state primarily use band 20 )

4g.co.uk/4g-…ow/

  • 800MHz (Band 20)
  • 900MHz (Band 8 )
  • 1800MHz (Band 3)
  • 2100MHz (Band 1)
  • 2600MHz (Band 7)

Three (3) use - Band 20 and 3 for 4G with Band 1 for 3G

4G – 800/1800MHz
3G – 2100

---------------------------------------------------------------------

T-Mobile, Orange, EE use - Band 20, 3 and 7 for 4G with 1 for 3G

4G - 800/1800/2600MHz
3G – 2100

---------------------------------------------------------------------

O2 / Telefonica use - Band 20 for 4G and 1 for 3G

4G – 800MHz
3G – 2100

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Vodafone use - Band 20 and 7 for 4G with 1 for 3G

4G – 800/2600MHz
3G – 2100

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Giff Gaff (runs over 02) so uses - Band 20 for 4G and 1 for 3G

4G – 800MHz
3G – 2100

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Tesco runs over o2 so uses Band 20 for 4G and 1 for 3G

4G – 800MHz
3G – 2100

----------------------------------------------------------------------

BT run over EE so use - Band 20, 3 and 7 for 4G with 1 for 3G

4G – 800/1800/2600MHz
3G – 2100

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Virgin Mobile run over EE so use - Band 20, 3 and 7 for 4G with 1 for 3G

4G – 800/1800/2600MHz
3G – 2100

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

TalkTalk Mobile run over vodafone so use - Band 20 and 7 for 4G with 1 for 3G

4G – 800/2600MHz
3G – 2100

The customs charge the last time was about £12 (£8.00 of that was royal mails handling charge ) so factor in £12 and your golden

The A1 is probably just as capable in every day use tbh and the 6 series snapdragons are very power efficient. While it wont blow your socks off while gaming it is no slouch, if heavy gaming at max resolution isnt your thing then it will run everything else you throw at at.

the only other thing missing from the A1 that I would have liked is NFC. depends what your after, personally I like the look of the A1 better but like all the bells and whistles on the Mi5s so in the end went for function over form.

Great info, cheers

There has been a lot of hukd members across the recent Banggood deals for RN4 and Mi5s saying they got customs charges. Probably over 15 people. Some more mentioning it this morning too:
hotukdeals.com/com…749
hotukdeals.com/com…857
So it's likely you'll get charged. It appears to be the result of Banggood using Swiss Post. If it's like most of the others on the recent Banggod deals, they'll have it valued at $22 which will mean getting a £11.50 charge.

I'm on EE and its rural so 800 MHz LTE band 20 is an important part of the network.

I think the "Global version" is always best if you're on EE.

I would agree. I have Mi5 with no B20, and my reception is identical to my wife and daughter who have UK sourced Galaxy S6 and iPhone 7 respectively. We are all on 3.
