Xiaomi Mi 8 6GB/128GB - £328.99 @ Toby Deals

Shipping from Hong KongFound 9th Aug
Free delivery and should be custom/vat free, ordered one myself after having a look around for a decent deal for some time, the only problem is it's a Chinese ROM although IIRC you can unlock the bootloader and get the global ROM flashed.

The code should work for new accounts.

PLEASE BE AWARE
I have just found out about this that xiaomi as well as the anti-rollback that they have introduced in MIUI 10, they have also introduced without again warning people if you flash a Chinese model phone with the official global rom you have to leave the bootloader unlocked if you don't and lock the bootloader the phone will soft brick. They have done this to stop third party sellers selling the cheaper China version with flashed global rom. The phone will work ok as long as the bootloader is left unlocked but some things like Google pay will not work as it requires a locked bootloader for security there is uproar about it on MIUI Forum site here is one of many threads about it en.miui.com/thr…tml

Thanks! I don't normally find good deals so thought I'd share
Much much better mix 2s

To anyone who does succumb to this deal, please pass on my love to your notch (and your grandma)

I don't like the notch but waiting for the Mix 3 isn't worth it for me considering it'll cost an extra £100 when released, I also want that AMOLED which the Mix 2 doesn't have.

It's a good deal, man, I'm only messing. Heat added.
I'm still unsure why the deal for £276 on the 64Gb model 2 days ago was not ultra hot.
Crazy price, I was waiting for a mi mix 2s too, but anything sub £300 is amazing for snapdragons 845

Damn I didn't see that deal, I'd have taken the 64GB model for that considering I don't use that much space, suppose later on having the 128GB will be a massive benefit though. On the other hand Joybear does get you hit with customs, or at least that is what some people are saying.

The £276 iirc was from joybuy, and you are hit by customs with them, as they declare full value, so it would have probably worked out the same price as this op.
Right, so if we want to dodge some tax, better stay clear from them =)

Sounds too good to be true. Was it a gearbest one designed not to be honoured?
Is there a customs catch?

Edit: just saw switchys comment above. What can I say, great, stingy minds!

Lol, not exactly, they price their items quite low, because they know 99% of the time you get hit with customs based on the declaration on the package.

If they priced the items like gearbest, then I doubt anyone from the West would buy anything from them
So I would prefer paying lower price + tax than higher price and no tax, so at least I'm doing my bit, hopefully it goes to NHS!

More like council housing for some new poor EU workers being paid minimum wage.
Its a shame the bootloader problem following the global rom install exists, as it makes this deal not worth it in the slightest.
Heat for the price. Recently got one global version from another website, it is a great phone.
