Never heard of em. If they aren't allowed on here, I generally dismiss them, but to each their own.

Mi 8 Pro has 128gb of storage and 8gb of ram with an in-display fingerprint sensor, drawback is a smaller 3000mah battery.

In display I see as a negative, and battery as a massive negative too, hence why I said the mi 8 is probably the better phone.

lol very "iffy"
I have the Mi8 currently and I love it. I came from pocofone, and love that too but the NFC was needed. Also, the OLED screen is a beaut. Hope to keep the Mi8 as long as I can. I have dropped it in water and it went dead for two days and I disassembled and dried it out and it came back to life. So it's durable too.

I got the Mi 8 in the recent Amazon warehouse deal that was on here for 149 quid for Used - Very Good and it's an absolute cracker. Lovely cameras/screen as well and very rapid. I agree with Switchy, the in display fingerprint sensor and smaller battery of the Mi 8 Pro are both big negatives for me, especially as the price is higher.

Why should the phone with a "Pro" at the end be worse than the same phone without Pro?

It's been explained in the thread but of course it's only an opinion.

This or the Mi 8 Pro?

As peeps have said before, for me having used both the Mi 8 normal is better than the pro.
The screens & cameras are the same on both, the pro looks better because of the see through back (that's subjective). The 8gb ram vs 6gb ram was not even a issue for me played the same games and tasks without seeing any difference at all, 6gb is more than enough. The in screen fingerprint was awful to me it's very temperamental and nowhere near as quick and reliable as the one on the back, this is probably because it was one of the first xiaomi phones to have the in screen fingerprint reader. The battery is a big issue on the pro it drains so fast compared to the normal version, this was the reason why I sold my pro and went back to the normal version.
Bought one for missus - she loves it and I too am really impressed with how much it delivers for the money.
Not trying to put a dampener on the deal but my cousin recently bought one of these from cex and it was a Chinese ROM phone which had had the bootloader unlocked and the global ROM flashed on. That meant that Google pay wouldn't work for him so sent it back. Cex btw had no issue with the refund.

If this is a genuine EU/UK phone then heat added

That's exactly why it's important to be able to differentiate the Global ROM version, from Global phone. If description only says "Global ROM", then your case is valid. If says global model/global version/full global/etc, then it's OK to go for it. In case it was described as full global and appeared to only be a Global ROM, PayPal dispute will resolve it in your favour.

Under the link, there are no details like that indeed, so it's worth to ask someone from CEX about it.
