Excellent price from amazon even if its Germany.
Excellent price, I may switch to this phone
Great phone for the money. Bought one in May. I'm more than happy with it. It replaced my Honor 9. The camera set-up is just amazing. For the money it can't be beat
Still happy with mine though the finger print scanner is hit and miss to be honest but I just use the power button to unlock ( it's faster that way !) Other than that it's a beast super fast too

Hmm you might have just tempted.me as I have honor 9 and was about to upgrade to this. How much quicker is it and how's the camera in comparison?

Cheers
I have one..great phone...in screen fingerprint was the only let down - tbh I thought it was not working well ...however, now Im used to it even that is pretty good and may even have been user error
Recommend the Spigen Black Carbon case on Amazon too...though there is one in the box - which I didnt realise until I got the Spigen

It's snappy and a lot quicker than the Honor 9, and doesn't suffer from the frequent lock ups and freezes experienced on the Honor 9. The camera is better in all scenarios in my opinion. I'd recommend also downloading GCam from XDA as it really improves low light photos
Hey Xiaomi, Where's the 9T Pro? We haven't got all year!
Just an FYI, after the software update 10.2.27 from a few days ago I found the fingerprint reader much faster.
Ah I really don't need this but very tempting. Great price
@Mrswitch dear Mrs Witch, thanks for posting this. If there are any problems, would I need to return this back to Germany, or can I go through Amazon UK?

Doesn't seem much better to me. Still hardly ever unlocks if the phone is flat on a surface, only if it's in your hand.

But at least the bug with the data stopping after you lose and regain signal has been fixed.

Maybe you set a different region or something like that. Mine is the 128gb from Amazon.de

@Jijin2 I'm looking to purchase a phone from Amazon Germany and was wondering whether they add the phone IMEI number to your order history in case I need to report it as lost/stolen as I seen some people have received an empty box or without the phone.
How does this compare to the mate 20 pro in terms of video recording? I find the Huawei terrible for focusing on anything that isn't a human face at short distances

They're both the latest depending on the phone's intended market. European Mi 9 has PFAEUXM ROM whereas the ones from Chinese sellers usually have PFAMIXM ROM. The region you set won't change it since the ROM is pre-installed. They're both Global ROM but apparently you can't flash one over the other without unlocking bootloader. Here's a thread< when European Mi 9 owners first noticed the "MI" ROM. Other Xiaomi phones released since then have also had the different "EU" and "MI" ROMs.

I've never used it, but have read reviews that say video recording isn't the best either.

It's really unacceptably bad to the point where I can't believe they released the phone. I'll probably have to sell it and move to a more reliable brand like Samsung/lg/ maybe even get my first Apple product. I feel like phones have taken a step backwards in being able to do everything well like my s7 edge could.

Apple are the best at video, no questions about it really. I thought you had a g7?

I did but returned it as it had no warranty (even though in description it said there was manufacturer warranty) and was an American T mobile variety which missed one of the bands for UK.

Wow, I know its bloody expensive, but the xperia 1 does video very well, if you can afford it of course.

I don't like to spend much on phones but that's part of my issue as you can't get high end camera on low end phones. Just really disappointed by the Huawei's. I find it amazing anyone bought one of these for anything over £300. Nice hardware but software is the big issue in many areas.
May have to try and get a note 9 or s10e or see if I can get a cheap iPhone (never even tried one before)

Hi @dreadzone101, if I'm buying a "global" rom phone, how can I tell if it has the EU or MI ROM? If it turns out to be the latter, will it not function properly, receive updates, etc, or is it only an issue if I want to flash it?

You can identify it in: Settings > About phone. There will be a bracketed letter code beside "MIUI Version". Both will function properly and receive updates etc. Identifying it would just indicate whether the phone was intended for European market or not. Global Version phones from Chinese sellers usually have the 'MI' ROM. On MIUI downloads section they're called Global ROM< (MI) and EEA ROM< (EU). Xiaomi only started using the 'EU' ROM for the phones released in Europe since Mi 9.

I lied, that bug still exists.. I'm selling my Mi 9 now, a phone where the data randomly packs up is pointless.
