Good phone, but there are a few I'd choose before it, albeit with a bigger budget.
Thanks, daughter's budget is £200 max, I'd let her stretch to £209

Then yeah, or the Honor play would be my choice for £160 on ebuyer express
Thanks Mr S. Sorry for distraction on this thread

I'd say Mate 20 pro beats this in every area
What's your view on the honor view 20 for 269 on amazon?
@Mrswitch

Looks like an excellent deal.2 questions for you:
1. Do you think it's worth paying £386.60 for the 128gb version from the same ebuyer shop? given that i tend to upload most of my photos to the cloud and clear the phone every 4 weeks or so. i.e. is it worth me paying the extra £32 for the 128gb version given I probably won't ever use up the full 64gb on this model. I currently have a phone with 32gb storage which often gets filled when i go abroad, but I'm sure 64gb will be enough... or will it...??

2. Do you think the Xiaomi store will do this phone for anywhere near this price as part of their summer sale?

Thanks again

I'd rather save the money and get the 64gb me personally, I don't ever fill an 128gb phone. I'm a frugal HUKDer

I really don't know about the Xiaomi store, but the ebay code is on til Friday, so you still have time.

There was a Mi 9 offer during round 1<. Even with the additional discounts from app and £10 off every £100 spent, 64GB was still £400+. It's unlikely they'd have another Mi 9 offer during (final) round 4, at a lower price.
Don’t know why anyone would pay £350 for a sub par phone

I'd say everything on this phone is better, apart from 2 things, camera, and support, Google support is top nothc, xiaomi support is not, the camera on this is really good, but the camera on the 2xl is superior.

Resolution might be higher but the screen on the 2XL is dreadful. Mi 9 screen will be miles better.

I'd agree with @DirtyQwerty the resolution may be higher, but the mi 9 will have the better screen
@Mrswitch my only concern on pulling the trigger on this is the MIUI10 OS.

I've heard some terrible things about having to root these, issues with notifications not working the same way as other Android operating systems etc.

Can you shed any light ? I would be moving from a Samsung S8 so Android 9.0 with the Samsung Experience on top at the minute.

Thanks, I think she didn't like the notch on this one. I'll not even begin to understand the decision making process.

Whatever you've read or heard, you can only experience it for yourself, I never had any issues using miui, or notifications, in fact I quite like miui. No rooting required either.

Lol - yeah I hear you; multiple surreal “debates” occur in my household boiling down to superficial matters...
