If you aren't OK with spending this money on this type of site then please don't, there may be extra charges and long waits as well. Always a risk with these kinds of purchases, so do think thoroughly before diving in.

Pay by credit card or PayPal, and ideally have an bank account that covers warranty on Grey imports

Like I say, I really wouldn't go through with this purchase, unless you are 100% certain you can accept there may be issues.

Deal beater lol. Although mine won't have any customs charges. Do we know what kind of percentage of people are likely to get customs charges on gearbest stuff, or is it too random to tell?

In most cases they avoid it by drop shipping to an EU based warehouse then relabeling for the UK
Thanks MrSwitch. Do you recommend buying a case from the same supplier or somewhere else? Only want a basic one. Any suggestions for a good one?

Always? Are you using DHL or the like? Must have ordered over 25 items over the years from Gearbest and not even a sniff of any charges,

I think he is warning you that the priority shipping options usually incur customs...you need to take the slowest surface mail option - or the european option if there is one
Is this likely to get cheaper at around 4pm UK time on Sunday 10th or is this likely to be the best price?
The 64GB version is £180.41 on eGlobal with 2 years UK warranty (discount code XIAOMI) or £189.99 for the 128GB with 2 years UK warranty.
It's a toss up between this and the Realme 5 Pro for me at the moment, Battery and camera being the main things I'm looking for, not worried about NFC, and I use Nova launcher
Does anyone have real world experience of the camera on the realms 5 pro?
Thanks

@MrSwitch I'm looking to get the 128GB version but would you advise on getting it from Gearbest or £12.99 more from eGlobal with 2 years UK warranty?

Having spoken to the Xiaomi UK community manager a couple weeks ago, he said take the warranty at eglobal with a pinch of salt, however, if it gives you peace of mind, then go for eglobal, you can't put a price on peace of mind.
Just pulled the trigger on the 128gb. I think it's worth the extra 50 quid over the redmi note 8. Opted for EU priority line shipping to minimise the chance of customs charges.

Where did you get it with EU Priority line shipping? i can only see just "Priority line" shipping on this item
Is this better than the Note 8 Pro for gaming?

I was just watching the video above and it mentions that adverts pop up with some applications. Can someone explain that please? Is this really the case?

Yes, with certain Xiaomi apps there are targeted ads but it's completely possible to turn them off with a quick Google search. You may never use the apps anyway as they are Xiaomi stock apps like mi music, Xiaomi app store and security centre.
Thank you Ken
