This is what the mi A3 should have been, the 64gb is a fiver cheaper on the Geekbuying site.

No band 20, and I'd imagine is the Chinese version, though it doesn't state, for an out the park price, for 128, not bad for the specs.

Hi, Is the notification issue fixed on the mi 9?
Isn't Mi9T at kind of the same price?

Yeah. Though I can't not post a phone based on another phones price

So this is for those who willingly want a Mi 9T with a notch, for more money, and without a European warranty? Sorry Switch, cold from me.

This was a "look, it's just been released" post. Cold away mate, cold away.
As has been said, they have other better phones for the money..

The full Mi 9 has the 855 so quite a bit better performance

Obviously you aren't the average user, the average user wouldn't experience a slowdown between the 710 and 855

Maybe but the average user may notice not having band 20

For less than 20 quid more this is a much better deal

My goodness you're hard work, my original comment was about performance (ie processor to processor) not about this having band 20 etc. I've already admitted above this deal is just to show it has been released.
If it's about performance then why bother getting any phone at nearly 300 quid as a hundred quid one will "perform" all the basic functions pretty much the same and most people wouldn't notice much difference.

Plus a faster processor makes it more future proof as who knows how phones will run in an update or two from Google

If someone offers you a Focus or a Ferrari for nearly the same money I doubt anyone would take the Focus as the speed limit is 70 so what's the point being able to go faster or would pick a Celeron over a similarly priced Ryzen 3 because they only do word processing

Oh and this looks to be a flashed Chinese model versus the other deal being for a global one so worth the extra to be sure of getting proper updates

The Snapdragon 625 my auntie uses in her xiaomi mi a2 lite runs as good as the first day it was released, that is now 3 and a half years old. It does her for her needs, ie the average user.

Power users buy the Snapdragon 855,whoch is fair enough, it's the kind of processing speed that is needed for me, hence why I use the kirin 980, the Snapdragon 710/730 in these phones will last years, in fact they'll last just as long as the 855.

To add I've posted the 9t pro last week at around the same price as it is in your linked deal, I'll not repeat why I've posted this, your linked deal is the far superior deal, far superior, I'm agreeing with you that is the better deal.

So by your own admission the "average" user would be just as happy with a £145 Mi A2 lite from Amazon rather than pay nearly twice as much for no actual benefit to them?

The Snapdragon 710 or 730 yes, not the 625, I simply used that as an example that it still performs well, even though it was first released 3 and a half years ago.

I've no idea what your issue is, by your own admission you use your phone as a work tool and gaming hence need the speed, in tests (especially the 730) there are no "real world" differences from the 855 to 730, unless gaming heavy usage etc.
My issue is that at this price this phone falls between two stools. The "average" user you keep bringing up has no need to spend 300 when a 145 quid phone (by your own admission) will do everything they need.

It won't appeal to a "power" user as they can get more bang for their buck from other models in the same range.

This is why the "lite"models are sold

The average user would be absolutely fine with this (if it were £100 less)

But this conversation wasn't about cost, it was originally about processing speed and performance for average and power users.

You brought price and other specs into it, I admit this is a poor price for this phone, but taking price out of it, the average user would get on with this for 2 or more years.

This is getting slightly out of hand now.

This is Hot UK Deals...

the whole point of the site is cost and price and getting the best deal.

This is not the best deal and you admit as such so why even post it if you know it's "a poor price for this phone"

What if someone didn't know better and bought it from your "recommendation" and ended up with a phone with no warranty, limited service and no updates and as they are an "average user" don't understand why their 300 quid phone is a waste of money.

Bad form really so just take the hit and move on...

I have are you joking, I've told you three times now this is a poor deal, I'm not defending the deal in. The. Slightest, if someone posted this as a deal I'd vote it cold.

But our original conversation wasn't about whether this was a good price or not, it was a conversation on average vs power user.

Again I'll say, this deal is poor, and I'm taking the hit that this is a poor deal,

Edit. You keep editing your comments, very unnecessary

But I'll respond, by average user, I don't mean gullible, I mean just people who surf on their phones etc. Please don't put words into my mouth and try and make me look bad, very unnecessary

I don't understand the hate. Comparing the Mi 9 Lite to the Mi 9, the Mi 9 Lite has a bigger battery, expandable storage and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Even though the Mi 9 has a "better" CPU, I personally value the Mi 9 Lite more and am looking forward to the official global release.

I gave a link to compare it to the Mi 9T pro for less than 20 quid more.

That has a headphone jack

That has a battery only 30mah smaller
Yes the Mi 9T is the other comparable option and the price of that is nice but I don't like the case back design/colours, I think the pop up camera is a bit naff and it doesn't have expandable storage. If the Mi 9 Lite was priced the same, which it eventually will be given time, then I would go for the Mi 9 Lite personally.

Why is it a poor price? I've given you numerous reasons why someone might prefer the Mi 9 Lite over the Mi 9 and Mi 9T / Pro.
You obviously value the CPU over everything else and that is personal preference. No need to keep harping on.
