That's a great price switchy , had it been posted along with the Amazon Spain deal I likely would have settled for blue with a 40quid saving, voted hot

Cheers buddy, yeah I think £40 is the cut off point on this type of price. Over £300 I'd say £50 and so on so forth.
Good price I guess Sir Switchalot but I just can't get excited about this model...

How come, Snappy 730, or 64GB?

With the price of the Mi 9 these days it seems a reach to plump for this with worse CPU, cameras aren't quite as good either. Obviously not tried it but I'd expect battery life to be much better in relation to the Mi 9 than it seems to be. Gsmarena says 95 hour standby for Mi 9 and only 100 for Mi 9T.

Yeah, probably agree with that, but I'm more tempted by this than the 9.

Never fancied the 9 tbh, just another same same phone but with the snappy 855, wonderful price on release don't get me wrong, but now seems a little boring?!
Is this a better camera than the MI 8?

Mi 8 has optical image stabilization, which my or may not swing it for you. Mi8 has excellent camera. In some circumstances in low light the 8 can be better, it's not a clear-cut win for either.

This, OP7 or wait for Poco F2?

Don't think anyone knows.

Depends how much you hate notches I guess, I really hate them.
I'm waiting for the Mi 9T Pro myself unless a stupidly good price for the 128gb Mi 9T pops up.
Comparisons on YouTube show the difference in normal use isn't really noticeable.

Get the 128gb to £250 and I'll bite.

Voted hot.
Only current cheaper I can find is £251 for black if paid in $ on Aliexpress - for some reason hotukdeals says this link doesn’t work: s.aliexpress.com/NvQ…7fEF
But where does one paste the coupon? I’ve got it in May cart, but I don’t see any place to paste it, and I fear that if I continue any further I’ll end up ordering it without using the coupon!

I see now that the link is shortened by hotukdeals when it is posted. If you look at my quote above you can see the full link (if it isn’t shortened automatically again!)

I see the 128gb is only £18 more expensive before coupon is applied, but I suppose there is no code for the 128gb?

Just a little heads up re: global ROMs. I got my Redmi K20 pro last week and it had the global rom MIUI 10 Global 9.5. 31. Its been perfect except that I cannot install Netflix. Apparently because the bootloader has been unlocked, it doesn't pass the SafetyNet check. (interestingly, my RBS banking app worked without any issues)

I'm not sure if there's a workaround but I'm a little nervous about flashing ROMs etc. I purchased a mi mix 2 in a similar way a couple of years ago and it worked perfectly so wasn't really expecting this.

Not sure if this phone will have the same issue but worth investigating.

This won't have the same issue because it's a Global Version. It'll have locked bootloader with Global ROM factory pre-installed. Redmi K20 Pro = China Version which would have China ROM so sellers open it, unlock bootloader and flash Global ROM. There's no official Global ROM or a Global Version Mi 9T Pro yet. From what I've seen the Global ROM that sellers are using is a beta ROM which also changes the device name to Mi 9T Pro. Does your Redmi K20 Pro say "Mi 9T Pro" in "About phone"?

Another point to note is that the Mi 9T seems to have Widevine L1 whereas Redmi K20 / K20 Pro has Widevine L3.

Thanks, but price becomes £287: I’d rather take the 64gb and save the £32 of your original deal.

That is exactly what it says, you're spot on! It does look like this is what has happened and it is a beta rom. Do you know if there's a way to lock the bootloader if a suitable global/EU rom becomes available?
It's a fantastic phone by the way, I'm sure the non pro version will be excellent too

I think that even with official Global ROM, you can't relock bootloader after flashing it on China Version, otherwise it'll brick the device. Here's a thread< for someone having tried it with Mi Mix 3.

In the past sellers would often modify China ROM to create a fake "Global" ROM. Not sure if that's the case with the Beta ROM but it's most likely unofficial. The K20 Pro ROM from Xiaomi.EU might be more suitable. Xiaomi have also released the Redmi K20 Pro kernel< so custom ROMs should be available in future.

Wonder how long it will take for the 128GB to get to £250?
64GB isn't going to be good enough due to no SD card slot

Well gsmarena you can compare specs and pics / video. For futureproofness, performance and gaming or apps (inc photo edits) 855 will outlast 730.

Yeah, I am aware of GSM arena.

For what most people use their phone for, I'd say the 730 was the best balance for performance and price.
