Xiaomi Mi A1 64 GB from eGlobecentral - £154.99 with code / £159.99 before code

Mi A1 Gold is available on eGlobecentral for 159.99. Code “HOLIDAY” brings price further down by 5£’s. TCB also works at 2%, which should result in further saving of 3£’s. It’s almost the same price as seen recently in AliExpress/Gearbest, but the advantages will be delivery in a weeks time and no danger of customs duty.

Cracking phone for the money I can't praise it enough, I don't know anything about the company though. Heat added for the cost of the phone.
I bought this phone from eGlobal and am very pleased. Delivery was about 8 days. I can't vouch for what the company is like should anything go wrong, but hopefully it won't develop any faults.
How come there is no danger of import duties? Is it shipped from Europe?

Also is it advisable to use insured shipping?

Thanks in advance, I've never used eglobal before.

EDIT: Just found it in the t&cs

17.1 To simplify the process of buying internationally, eglobal central choose to handle the process of custom clearance for customers. By purchasing products through eglobal central, you authorise eglobal central to make arrangements for clearance of customs on your behalf for the products in your order. As importing products from overseas can be a hassle for most of our customers, we organise this process for you. We then provide you with fast local shipping to deliver the goods to your door. As a result, prices shown on this website are the final total you have to pay to have the order delivered to your door, without any hidden charges and customs delay.

I usually use banggood, but very tempted as this is nearly £20 cheaper...

JW....did it come factory sealed from eglobal?

If you mean unopened in the original packaging, then yes.

Thanks, yeah... I meant in a sealed celophane wrap over the Xiaomi box, i.e. totally factory sealed and not opened before dispatch (i.e. for checking contents, loading malware roms etc )
Great price! I'd be all over this if not for the lack of NFC

Massive fan of pure Android.

Heat OP!

just to put your mind at rest, I recently bought HTC U Ultra at Eglobal central and it came fully unopened, sealed and shrink wrapped!
Is this the global version? If not, what is the difference?

Reviews for eGlobecentral are very mixed.
I bought two of the same phones from eGlobal and both had the seals broken.
The second one also had the seal on the battery broken.
Unfortunately it also had a small mark on the screen and my best guess is that it was a customer return and as the mark was so small they understandably didn't notice.
I don't mind that so much although not ideal but when I brought it to their attention within 48 hours of receipt they said I had damaged it so it was not covered by their warranty.
They stopped communicating quickly so I got my Credit Card company involved and they refunded me in full eventually.
It was a hassle to do the paperwork and it takes months for them to complete the process.
The chances are you will be okay but if you have issues be prepared for the worst.
Took the plunge and bought this
I am extremely tempted! Looks a slightly better deal than the one posted for Aliexpress. Doesn't appear to charge extra for pay pal payment and website is better experience imho.
Never used these b4 really want this phone tho, always stuck with gearbest never had any issues with them, anyone dealt with these guys b4 good or bad?
I bought a Nexus 5x from them, no issues re ordering and quick delivery. 5x developed the classic LG bootloop within the 12 months so, as warranty was with EG (I spoke to LG and they confirmed my phone was sourced from Australia) it sent to them for diagnostics. That's where it all started to go wrong. The initial inspection place was in England then it got sent it off. After 6 weeks of tooing and froing (1 email response every 2 or 3 days) they ended up losing my phone. I was offered 60% of the value but only as a credit (I didn't buy on a cc). I then ended up buying a M1 A1, which was delivered in 4 days. Fast company for delivery and cheap but if it goes wrong, it's a mess

Personally it’s my first buy from this website, but I have seen many people saying good things about this website on HUKD.

Yes. Good thing with this is it accepts PayPal without any extra charge ( unlike AliExpress). That single point has much value for me.
To order off eglobal is it best to order using credit card or PayPal and why?

I have a friend who had a similar experience. Eglobal will never get my money.

In my opinion, its best not to order from eglobal.
Bought one from eGlobal Dec 28. Said something like 8 days for delivery which was another reason I used them for my son's phone. I got my Mi A1 from HK Goldway a few weeks earlier.

However two weeks later I had to contact eGlobal as it still wasn't even showing dispatched!! Then I got a reply the next day just saying it was getting sent that day (convenient) and not addressing my question about why it wasn't dispatched when they'd stated 8 days for delivery. So I'd never trust their status on delivery times again.

I also got hit for custom charges using eGlobal. In the £30-odd range. Seals were unopened on phones box (edited to add this as seen folk asking).

Exactly the the same as I did with my phone from HK Goldway. £30-odd customs. Seals unopened.

However at least eGlobals one came with proper UK plug. Mine from HK Goldway came with foreign one and a converter that made it stick out from the plug about two inches (and totally unusable).

Always use PayPal where there is an option
What's the camera like on this? Better than a Moto G4?

Reviews say camera is good for this price range, you can’t expect it to match iPhone 7. Portrait mode is also a nice feature.

Just to give an update, I had placed my order on Friday morning. Received an email in a few hours about “packing and delivering soon”. Just now received an email that the phone has been shipped. Will update when I receive it.

I looked into this as I wasn't too sure.
In the end I used a credit card as it covers section 75 Consumer credit act 1974. Look it up

eGlobal central UK say they take care of all customs charges! They apparently ship to a UK Wearhouse then they ship to you.

Exactly. This is what I'd heard before, so why I chose them for the second order
FWIW i've ordered an ipad from here before, it came sealed but when opened it had a european charger ergo it wasn't a uk model. no customs was charged as shipped from within eu. In my experience these companies are usually ok getting items to you but useless when theres an issue/return. i was recently sent a wrong item by one such company and they wanted to charge me £8 to return it when i only paid £11 for it, basically id only get £3 back. As they didn't accept Paypal and i don't have a cc i had to use debit card, eg i'm SOL now. decide to just keep the wrong item and take it on the chin, lifes to short and all that.
