Have this phone and it is awesome. Brought through eBay and eglobalcentral UK and delivered 7 days later. Boxed and sealed. Even came with a UK plug adaptor. Updated to Oreo and only one issue so far, which was 4g stopped working for a few mins. Took a reset. Probably software issue. Camera not flagship....but for the money can't fault it.

I have this agree with you
This, or the Moto X4 on the CPW / TCB / O2 loophole that might come through at a net £49.99 (IF I get the O2 cancelled for no cost AND TCB come through, otherwise £135.99 max if I can't get O2 cancelled in month 1 and TCB doesn't track and pay) ?
I know this has more memory, but the Motorola should have the better warranty, and if all comes together, would be decidedly cheaper.
I know Chinese phones get credit for value for money, but as the X4 has gone through a major pricedrop and is then effectively reduced again that may negate that difference (I certainly don't pay £200 + for a phone).
Not sure about comparitive build quality, but as I have been happy with an Oukitel K6000 perhaps I am not too demanding on that score.
Any advice from those more knowledgeable about phones would be appreciated (those who know about phones with lowish price tags !).

In the same boat as you, looking at either this or possibly breaking my £200 limit, and going for the Mi Note. I hate phone changing time
I want this phone with a 636, but the A2 is rumoured to have a 630 or 650 :'(

I must have missed that deal, off for a look!
The X4 I believe has nfc but is not the Android One version. The Mi A1 has no nfc. If you are able to get the X4 at that reduced price and know the Security Update status of that unit and ok with that... I would check xda developers to see if its being supported independently of Motorola and if so, you have a long term viable handset.

davening, cheers, but slow down !
Security Update status ? Starting to blow my mind before you even go down the route of XDA developers !
Think I must be more than a few steps behind you in my mobile knowledge guess that's why I am a reluctant phone changer. Thought you were going to scare me with the Xiaomi not the Moto, perhaps time to get my old 3310 out of the drawer.

Got mine through eglobal ebay as well - 7 days - but it had an EU adaptor and the death-dapter (as bigclive calls them)

can you explain O2 loophole please?
Sorry, not sure how to link to another thread, but there was a deal going the following route ....
TopCashback £50 back on contracts from Carphonewarehouse.
Then buy sim free Moto X4 showing as £199.
It discounts this further if you add a SEPARATE sim only contract.
Adding a 12 month O2 £36 / month sim only takes the handset down to £99.99.
The contract DISCOUNTS the phone, but is not contractually linked to it.
On receipt of phone and sim, you can phone O2 and terminate the sim only contract, hopefully costing nothing, but at worst part of a month's bill.
Meanwhile, touching wood, as CPW are fast payers on TCB you will have tracked, and possibly paid, £50 for taking out a contract.
If all works perfectly it costs £99.99 with £50 cash back, if all goes wrong you pay £99.99 for phone, £36 for one month of contract and get £0 cash back.
Deal had expired, but I believe it is back on again.

Thanks for explaining but i believe Moto X4 is not dual sim?
Sorry, not sure on that score ...
Have run with dual sim on last 2 phones, but being honest, not really needed it since I stuck a mobile hotspot in my car that I can unplug if needed, so didn't factor that in.

Same here. Moto X4 4GB 64GB Dual Sim minimum i can find is £250 on ebay which is almost double price as compared to this deal.
That’s a lot of phone for the money.
How are they warranty wise? Any one had any experience
I ordered 2 xiaomi Redmi 5 handset's on Sunday and it's still processing and hasn't been dispatched.... The company usually like this???

Sorry, might have run dual-sims, but have never used Whats-App, so I don't know what it requires to run.
Never thought I would be, but perhaps I am becoming a dinosaur.

Did u see this one? Less than 200 quids. Sd636 plus 4g/64g looks very good. The 6" screen is a plus over this one, and the camera sounds better although I don't care too much.
Bumping this as the price has dropped to £132
Personally waiting for amazon to drop the price.
really good phone from android one project
Bit the bullet in the end. Would have preferred amazon but it’s £210 there.
Will I’ll be used as a second phone. I had bought a Ulefone for £80 on amazon which was fine besides a WiFi issue. This is definitely worth the extra. Look forward to getting it

Yeah, figured that out eventually.
Hopefully they'll change their convention entirely, and just make A1 variants
