Bought this phone (64gb 4gb ram model) in January and have been using it until a few weeks ago. Been a pretty solid phone but has its down falls. Here is my basic rundown about what I didn't like and what I do like about the phone. Your opinions and experience may vary of course.

Issues:
- I've had constant wifi dropouts over the past 5 months, every 10 minutes or so. I switched back to my Galaxy S8 a few weeks ago because it became almost unusable to do anything on. Your experience may differ.
- Netflix isn't in HD, which is pretty noticable considering the phone is 1080p and how large this phone is.
- 4G range was okay, not the best, but it's a budget phone so can't complain.
- There was some noticable motion blur when I initially switched from my Galaxy S8, it ends up becoming unnoticable one your eyes adapt to it.
- Phone and screen protector choice was very limited, I'm still using their stock included case which is a flimsy plastic. Bought a glass screen protector from alibaba.

Although it was quite nice in some ways
Good stuff:
- It's quite a large phone, but the screen quality still holds up. It's noticable at close distances that it's ppi was quite low for it's size, but at a foot away it's fine.
- It held up it's speed while watching videos, scrolling through twitter etc. I've played a few, very basic, games and it played well.
- Did phone calls, text messages, etc, using stock android because it's apart of the Android One program.
- Limited bloatware as Android One prevents most apps that aren't google, compared to Xiaomi's MIUI.
- Decent battery life, I could get a day of general use for me; Few phones calls and text messages, screen off most of the day, listen to music on the way home and watch a few videos before it needs a charge.
- Fast charging, I feel like it charges to 60% from 10% within 20-30 minutes point which was handy for those mornings you forget to charge your phone.

I can't think of much more about this phone. It's a great phone for the price, I would recommend it, but I have had my issues with it which has caused me to chuck it to the side within a year of use for an older, although flagship on it's release in 2017, galaxy s8.

Xiaomi, and sub brands, are fanstastic in my opinion, their budget range is perfect for anyone that just wants a basic techthat tries to reach above it's price.

If you have any questions about this phone I'd be more than happy to answer.

I'm looking for something 6gb wise around this price point. Would you recommend this Mr Switch or another option perhaps?
I'm moving from a 4gb zuk z2 and want something that's a real upgrade

Great price for a phone with 6gb RAM. I've had one in the basket on the Laptops Direct website for about 5 days but just get myself to pull the trigger as it doesn't have external storage.
Any suggestions on which would be better, this with 6gb RAM or the xiaomi redmi note 7 128gb with external storage but only 4gb RAM?
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.
@MrSwitch sorry I've spammed your inbox a bit and my phone sent the wrong link

Is £180 a decent deal on the redmi note 8 pro? 128gb EU version, stock in UK 2 day delivery

Redmi Note 7 is MIUI, which is just bloatware apps, and I've heard it doesn't have the play store because of Androids new rules, but maybe this is just the chinese model.

Xiaomi Mi A2 is stock android so the experience is as barebones as you can get. Google developed everything, only xiaomi apps, I either can't or haven't had a need to uninstall, I have on mine is the Xiaomi store app and a review app.

Xiaomi Mi A2's more RAM is definetly an advantage; I have the 4GB model of the Xiaomi Mi A2 and it runs fine, so I can't see Redmi Note 7 clunking along unless MIUI is coded bad.

Redmi Note 7 has a headphone jack, where Mi A2 doesn't, which can make or break some people.
Redmi Note 7 has a better battery.

If MIUI doesn't bother you, I would go for the Redmi Note 7.
If you don't mind sacrificing the headphone jack and extra battery life for a stock android, slightly faster, experience Xiaomi Mi A2 is fine.

Depends if battery life is a key requirement, then I wouldn't suggest getting this.

A similar priced xiaomi or Honor /huawei would serve you better, Mi A3 - A2 lite etc.

Battery life isn't everything. My zuk is still going strong after nearly 3 years but the touchscreen is starting to die. Want something which will still be good in a couple of years.

I'd go with one of the mentioned, not this, whilst it's a good phone, I wouldn't say it was a long term phone, maybe something like the note 8t from three for £170 will serve you better

Same thing happened to me with wifi. Software is buggy or hardware.

What I did was split my ssids into two one for 5ghz and the other for 2.4ghz. works much better until you get out of range for 5ghz which I find relatively weaker than my other phones.

Only place I found more cases and screen protectors is on aliexpress.

I found the screen goes unresponsive sometimes admittedly when playing games. (heat?)

Location wise, I'd like to stay as close to home as possible. UK preferably, maybe Europe. In terms of sellers or selling platforms? I don't really have a preference.

Very cheap on amazon, and ebay, closest to home you'll get tbh.
Sorry to spam thread. Looking for new phone ideally 128gb
Android, main issue is needs a good battery.
Was looking at Moto g7 power, but my Moto g6 play has WiFi issues and buggy.
What do you recommend around £200

Not even sure it's possible

Redmi note 8t from three for £169?
From my experience. A small battery can become a bigger issue if you have things like fitness trackers connected via bluetooth. The added load on the battery can cause battery to be lower than expected.

Just saying.

I've had this phone (4gb version) since the spring. I love it. The camera is really canny, does a nice blur effect in the portrait mode. I've had no problems with WiFi or cellular or Bluetooth connections. Connects really quickly with a couple of Bluetooth headphones I use. I use mine with a tempered screen protector off eBay and a hybrid armour case. I chose this case because the weak party of this phone is the raised camera lens which I managed to break very quickly. No issues since I got the case though and I've dropped it a few times. It doesn't have an edge to edge bezel-less screen but that just isn't an issue for me in the slightest. The battery isn't massive, but I virtually NEVER charge to 100%, usually 70% or so. I prefer to just top the battery up a bit when it gets between 10-30% because it puts massively less stress on the battery and I'm never away from a charger or a power bank should I need it. I'm really happy with this phone and the lack of bloat (having previously used a Sony L1 which is just ridiculously crippled with bloat) plus Android One makes it a breeze to use.39265305-KHR7k.jpg

This phone takes better photos than Samsung S8. I have them both and I hate my Samsung because of this.

Not to mention S8 was 3 times the price (received as gift, would never pay that much for overpriced crap)
