Excellent price in the usually out of stock red colour
I know the Mi A3 is round the corner but this is a helluva lot of phone for the money. If you are put off with the lack of headphone jack i believe you can buy Type C earphones now...

Heat added.
Awesome spec for the money..heat added 😁

My wife has just got this. It came with a USB c to headphone adapter in the box. Great phone for the money.
If you can do without the microSD card then this is a nice phone.
But i perfectly understand that some may prefer to spend £140 for the Redmi Note 7 with the bigger battery, better camera(not dramatically so) and 3.5mm headphone socket(not really an issue for most).
My dad had a mi A2 lite (4gb) but dropped it today. Was going to order a new one but thinking this might be better? What do you think?

Lack of micro USB and headphone jack is no issue

If lack of expansion slot and headphone jack is no issue then this is the better phone, no question. Smaller battery, though.

PS put a tempered glass screen on his next phone, they really do provide protrction.
Is this better than a note 4?

Yes.
But,
Battery is smaller.
No microSD slot
No headphone socket, you have to use an adapter which is provided, or Bluetooth headphones.

Ok thanks
No radio though in case you're a footy fan like me wanting to listen to commentary on local radio. Otherwise, brilliant.
Amazing price BTW!!!
Looks nice, just ordered, hope the screen is decent never had an xiaomi before
wouldn't this incur customs?

I’ve had 3 iPads and 2 phones over the years with eglobal and never had an issue re customs and delivery was 7/10 days at most and always by courier signed for....can’t fault them.
Cracking deal! I made the leap from IPhone (former Apple fan boy) to Mi A1... and I've never looked back. A1 is still performing as good as it did on day one which means I just couldn't justify the update to the A2. I would get this in a heartbeat if I was needing a new phone right now, but I'm holding out for the A3 and going to treat myself when it's available.
Any reason why these phones never have NFC ?
Had one for a while, excellent phone, lovely big screen and battery lasts for quite a while, especially in battery saver. Camera is decent on it too, I paid 183 for it last year and have no regrets.

Although I’d definitely advise not to upgrade to latest Android version just yet as it was quite buggy on the Xiaomi when I first installed it.

Latest patches have improved it though! Nevertheless I’ve ordered this for my Fiancé, cracking deal!

I think it's because it's not used in China but Xiaomi are starting to include it on their higher specced phones, judging by comments on here they would shift loads more phones if only they'd done it sooner across the range, it would have been the icing on the cake for these low price Android one phones let alone the excellent note series.

I for one use gpay every day to buy my paper on the way to work.

£2 soft gel case too - prevents most of the drops and has excellent impact protection. This galaxy s9+ gets dropped daily and while the screen protector is in pieces the glass itself is fine
The camera is quite raised on these and is pretty fragile so worth investing in a hybrid case for a few quid.
Is this a dual SIM phone?

Simple answer is NFC isn't popular in China.

They're asking about Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, not Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Excellent Quality Phones,
Can anyone recommend something at a similar price point (or slightly cheaper) but far smaller physically? Preferably 5" max.

This camera comes with a transparent soft gel case in the box...helps protect the raised twin lenses as well.
good deal, is it worth to buy insurance offered during the purchase?

I think most people don't bother, just use a credit card or PayPal, not a debit card.

Awful company. My mi a2 failed to charge after the first 3 weeks. Awful customer service experience trying to get them to honour their guarantee!
