Heat added for the price although this has most definitely reduced in price way quicker than the A2 ever did and the reason, rightly or wrongly, has to be that screen res. Wouldn't be at all surprised if the 64Gb version is a ton by Xmas, maybe less. Billy bargains are about to be had for those not obsessed with pixels I feel.

A rare wrong move by Xiaomi imo.

Online reaction has been pretty awful on this device for Xiaomi. Largely down to their blunder of putting a 720p display on what otherwise would of been a massive seller. Having said that many people probably wouldn't mind the screen not being full HD, my Dad for instance! I'm going to hang on til closer to Christmas and get it for him when hopefully it will be at around the £100 mark. Unless you are watching TV and films on it, or are a hardened gamer, or hold your phone 1 inch from your nose, the screen is going to be fine.

This Mi A3 is the equivalent of what's known as the Mi CC9e in China which has MIUI rather than stock Android that A3 has.

Xiaomi have recently launched the better specd Mi 9 Lite which also has MIUI, and is known as the Mi CC9 in China. Which confusingly is really the much better version of the A3, and is an excellent phone for the money.

Recent rumours are that Xiaomi will announce on the 24th October a Mi CC9 Pro which will have a 108mp camera and a Snapdragon 730G processor. This could end up being the long awaited Mi A3 Pro in Europe and would have full 1080p as well as stock Android if it was ever to be released over here.

So all this messing about by Xiaomi has meant that the Mi A3's price has dropped like a stone, meaning for the price you can pick up a good little bargain.

Confused or what?

For minor clarity.

Great price and despite the lower Res screen, these are okay you know!

You got one now, or you had a play?

Wife has the 128GB and I confirm it's very good. Battery life is especially noteworthy. Feels nice and looks decent. Quick as well.

Camera isn't as good as the 9T but having a triple lens setup isn't to be sniffed at for this price at all.

Wow, and the screen is OK?

Unless you pixel peep, it's fine. It's bright and looks decent.

If you are a heavy user, yeah, 1080p might be better, but otherwise, I'd say it's hard to really find fault.

Cool, good information, thanks mate.
This or Note 7?

I agree and also disagree.

Part of me disagrees as Xiaomi seek to dip a toe in the water and test the market sensitivity to these things. Will be interesting to see how many are sold of the CC9 rebadge etc!

Dam, bought the mi A2 for this price, this looks like a bargain, good battery, triple camera, plenty of storage. Mi A2 has 6gb of ram, but I don't think any Normal user would notice any difference between 4gb and 6gb.

I've had many Xiaomi phones over the past few years and I can't fault this at all. The screen hasn't bothered me at all. Unless it was next to batter screen I wouldn't notice. Great job and I paid £140 for the 64gb version so bargain.

Christ is that how they did it? SMH.

Pure Android would've been better than a fifth Mi 9 variant. (9, 9T, 9T Pro, SE, Lite)

Yep, you're bang on. Although I hear MIUI is much improved now.

It's decent enough, but the look and feel of stock is preferred for me. Nova Launcher helps hugely
@MrSwitch - any thoughts on either this or the UMDIGI F1 you posted. For a, so far phone unsophisticated, teenager. Thanks.

If it were me I'd get them this. Always the Xiaomi for me!
Would the triple camera on this be better than the twin camera on the note 7? Thanks

I think it's better. The wide angle lens is good for buildings and stuff.
