Fitbit and Jawbone will always come out on top because of their apps but the mi band is a brilliant band still just a more basic app.

Will this work with the Endomondo app?

Adding the 5% code seems to bump up the price. Heat added though. Bargain!

My fitbit charge, after a month or so it only held its charge for a few days. I was told to not use any of the features, silent alarm, stop checking the steps; in the end it wouldn't hold charge for more than a few hours, they did send a replacement in the end but that broke within a few months also. The app was fantastic though and great motivation as you can compete with other people.

Latest one was the jawbone up 2, again after about 9 months stopped charging altogether (no lights came on it at all); they sent me a new one without issue but that one stopped holding its charge after a month.

I prefered the fitbit app, and have been tempted to buy the HR for that reason.

But i'm going to give this a try instead.

Me and the Wife both had fitbits, but hers stopped working so replaced it with a Mi Band, (the 1S, not this). Incredibly accurate, heart rate sensor is pretty good too, and it's great value for money. Will be getting one for myself when my FBFlex packs in

I can't comment about the mi band 2 but i do have the Xiaomi mi pulse and think it is excellent (and about half the price even of this!).

Coming from a Jawbone Up which was snapped in half by my son (don't ask!!) I think this is much better at a fraction of the price. Admittedly it doesn't look as nice but functionally it's streets ahead.

The official Xiaomi app is OK but for a couple of quid I downloaded the Mi Band Notify & Fitness app (by MC Group) which is very good.
The battery lasts for weeks on end (currently 3 weeks and still on 17%), step counting seems quite accurate, the heart rate might be a bit of a gimmick but i have nothing to compare against (but i does go up when i exercise!) and it tracks my sleep pretty good. Add into that the ability to notify me of messages, calls, whatsapp almost anything you want with the paid for app and i've just found i can use it to smart unlock my phone.

Take a look at this:

I'm tempted to buy one of these but at the moment, i don't have the need for it!

I have the mi band 1 and the app is pretty cool. Integrates with Google fit. I'm really pleased with it.

This looks really nice, I might palm off mine as an excuse to get it

Anyone confirm if this has a seconds counter/stopwatch feature?

Im just interested how accurate the heart rate monitor is on the xiaomi models.

Nice! Bought it this time! Thanks

am I being silly or is it only available from China?

Had this for about 12 days now after my jawbone packed in. It's nice light and snugg. Really cool that you can check the time and your steps without using the app plus your heart rate of you want which is a bit hit and miss (didn't buy it for that). The app is average and nowhere near as good as the jawbone one but overall for what it cost I think it's superb. P.s the battery is amazing. It's gone down 13% I'm 12 days which will clearly last me more than the 2 weeks estimated time. For the price you can't go wrong.

Ditto, the 10% OFF everything code had the same effect.

My daughter now has this after losing 2 of the first generation bands; they insert from the front whereas this inserts from the back (how she lost one of a roller coaster ride, I have no idea!). The straps on this, though, are silicone whereas the replacement coloured bands are of the more robust material.

I paid £33 on Brexit day, so this is a very good deal.

iI know you said don't ask but how on earth did junior snap it in half ?

Well, i'd let him use it for the first time ever so he'd had it on all day. I asked for it back and he was a bit sheepish about it but eventually gave it back. As I took hold of it, the 'insides' (the end from the pushable button) simply crumbled out! Apparently, he'd been fiddling with it all day and i guess he was bending it back and forward quite a lot.
So, not that interesting but as a pointer, don't bend the thing too much and don't let kids near anything if you don't want it breaking!!! :-)

I bought the cheap model from here

Xiaomi Mi Band 1S

Can definitely say for the price it has a wealth of features although the most interesting for me is the sleep tracker which I love. Battery life is amazing a month is easily obtainable between recharges which takes a few hours.

Possibly wise to spend a couple quid more and ship it within EU to avoid possibility of duty charges: eud.dx.com/pro…698

Good point, keep forgetting about that.

Fingers crossed its marked as a gift and slips in under the radar, some you win some you lose *flips coin* oO

I have had one of these since their launch a couple of months ago, fantastic band, HR Monitor matches my Mrs fitbit perfectly. there is no stopwatch timer on it and I think it slightly overestimates on the pedometer, but nothing major.
the sleep tracker is fantastic and can accurately tell me what time I needed to let the cat in...
battery life is phenomenal, comfortably getting 25-30 days per charge, and that's with all of the features on, including phone notification alerts

don't but if you have iPhone it won't record sleep **** app

In terms of paying duties, for something this cheap it is usually not worth the bother. I personally import them from China without a thought.

You should, strictly speaking, pay VAT on items over £15 and Customs Duty on anything over £135

I have a fitbit charge HR, and just got my wife a MiBand2, replacing her MiBand 1. Its a bit early yet, but what I would say is

Fitbit
- The charge HR batter life is about four days, but this is due it doing continual heart rate monitoring.
- I think the step counting is more accurate than the MiBand - I had both on the same wrist for a lunchtime walk - fitbit said just under 5000 steps, my wife's old MiBand said almost 6000 steps.
- Quite bulky and "square" compared to the MiBand 2.

MiBand 2
- very neat, nice display
- it can monitor heartrate, but only on demand - you also don't need to use the app to see your heart rate - but you may need to touch the inbuilt button several times for it to stay awake long enough to take the reading. (The reading is very comparable to the Charge HR )
- You will need to sync it with a phone to set the time, but otherwise everything works straight out of the box, without registration.
- Its slightly thicker than the MiBand one, so you won't be able to use the old MiBand 1 charger or other straps.

After a Fitbit Charge, you are not going to like the Xiaomi mi Band 2.

I had a Xiaomi mi Band 2, which I very quickly replaced by a Fitbit Charge HR (bought for £65 on eBay, new).

For the price, the mi Band 2 is not too bad, but many features missing and app is poor.
