Im not sure why i was expecting it to be awful, but good review, just subscribed. Are you in a fairly unique position? Native English speaker with access to xiaomi products as soon as they are released, probably not, but im sure there is room for you. Perhaps be relentless with getting xiaomi flagships asap and releasing videos might work for you.

I was literally gonna suggest that exact thing.

The thing about the Mi Band 2 is the long battery life. I really do get a month's worth.
I don't think this is an improvement when they cut the battery time.
And it looks like they've flipped the unit over, flat bottom, curved top. I know that sounds a winning combination, but I'm used to original shape.
I love my mi band 2 and this doesn't seem like a big upgrade really.

I'll probs get one when I lose my mb2- by then there should be lots of third-party leather straps.

Thanks for the positive feedback.
It is handy having a xiaomi store a stones throw away. If you look at my YouTube channel you will notice that my best video yet for views is the xiaomi pen haha. I found if it’s a flagship phone then xiaomi give a device to more professional reviewers who can get the video up much quicker than I can. So I get pushed too far down the list.
Wasn't this meant to be $30?

Agree loved that too but the 50m waterproof is the killer upgrade for me... proper swimming with it

How are you getting that much battery life, please could you advise me? I’ve switched off all message/call notifications and still only get 3-4 days max off a full charge

That really sounds like a faulty unit. I never use the display-when-you-lift-your-arm feature or pulse record through the night. It's mostly to check out my sleep patterns, get notifications of whatsapp or email, look at pulse rate when I need to, and I synchronise every few days. I use a Windows phone, my partner uses Android, and we only charge our Bands every 4 weeks or so. Sorry, not doing anything special to save on battery life, just using it as advertised.

Thanks for the reply. I’m using less features than you so you may be right about it being faulty. I bought mine from gearbest a month ago, doubt they’ll replace all the way from China?

They'll maybe replace it, yes. You're the customer, ask them, this don't really want to palm off faulty goods. You may have to judge if it's worth any hassle though. As a brand, all my Xiaomi house sensors from GB have worked without fault, but the Xiaomi hub had problems and gave up. I replaced it with a Smartthings hub from Currys, UK warranty, and will stick to my policy of not buying expensive items direct from China.
