Too expensive IMO. Few quid cheaper on AliExpress, $27.99 - further reduction from either a new user coupon or coupon pals.

Coupon pals?

It's a game on the app, guaranteed coupon every time. Could be just cents or a few dollars off.

How does this track REM when it's on your wrist?

Not sure. I’ve just got it having had the 4 before and it does show rem but my sense is that it doesn’t track sleep as well as the 4. It has been telling me I’m awake when I’m not. So not so impressed with that but screen is good & interface too. But I digress.

Thanks was just about to ask that. I've got the 4. Not worth the upgrade for me, too little improvement.
I haven’t got the 4, but from the reviews I’ve seen one of the better upgrades is that you can charge the 5 without removing it from the wrist strap

Anyone know if there's a difference between the global version and the chinese version? Seems it's just the language which is changable to english but would be good to know.

edit:
looks like they're the same except the setup language is in chinese and can be switched in the app.

Decent watch. When i had lost my Xiaomi Mi Band watch and contacted their team to delete my data both from the watch and from their system - they declined saying that is not possible. Would be interesting to know if anyone was indeed successful on getting them to wipe your data. Yes, its cheap, but I wouldn't recommend at the cost of risks around data privacy.

I’m curious as to what personal data they would have obtained from your mi band? I only plan to use it to track my exercise.

There are a few drawbacks to the international version. For starters, it will have 65 dynamic displays, whereas the China version has over 100. The global version will have six strap color variations, whereas the China version has eight. The global version does not have NFC, and it does not support the XiaoAi assistant.

I might be wrong or description might be wrong, but there is Chinese version with and without NFC. But as you said for us it makes no difference - NFC only works in China
