This has good reviews like from PC Advisor UK: "the Xiaomi Mi Band is an excellent-value, lightweight fitness band with outstanding battery life. It's as accurate as any other fitness band, and we particularly like its sleep monitoring, vibration alarm and phone call notifications. The Mi Band companion app is very easy to use, but falls down only in its integration with other fitness and social apps." This model includes heart rate monitoring.

Price is $15.99 (USD) but To get it for this price, a pop-up appears stating to sign up for email newsletters for 50 points. Do this and then order it and you are able to deduct $1.20 from order. Also, if you're new to Gearbest you get 8.8% TCB (4.4% if not new to them) or 8% Quidco. So if you get 8.8% grand total is about £10!

Their app connects to Google Fit which could be good.
But am looking for something with screen to show who is calling, change music track and esp Google Fit integration.

it may have good reviews but In reality you're paying for a tracker which is somewhat accurate and worth the dirt cheap price it cost

had mine around six months and i love the alarm feature. i silently vibrates which is a lovely subtle way to be awoken in the morning and dosnt awake the wife as opposed to a high toned beep alarm clock that i previously used. also great as i never miss a phone calll, text , email etc as it vibrates to let me know. PLUS there is the obvious fintness benefits so all in all i highly recommend them

Bought mine from Amazon for the same price. Not recommend if you're an apple user, very limited features. Also I spent a hour walking round asda and it told me I'd done 250 steps...my pedometer strapped my ankle said 10x that amount. It's not great to be honest!

That will be your phone then mate! For 11 quid you don't want much. I was disappointed not to see a James Bond style laser and no ejection seat, damn cheapskates.

Were you pushing a trolley at the time?. I've found this with a number of tracking devices. They don't pick up when you are pushing a trolley or buggy etc. I've started to take it off and put in my pocket for these long type of walks

Got the Sony SWR10 for under 11quid which did well including music change, no Google Fit but I like a tiny screen to decide to take call.
Each to his own.

Thanks op. Was looking at fitbits recently but couldn't justify £80 to check how well I sleep. So £12 is decent. Got 8% on quidco. So decent.

Wait till the second generation is available

Sounds like you're in the market for a smart watch rather than an activity tracker.

'In reality' as opposed to? No one is pretending it's anything other than a cheap tracker.

Sw10 is shocking looks good but u need to halve what it says it's that inaccurate

mi Band 2 is now available and has a small screen showing time/steps/distance/battery remaining/HR etc I even have it set up to notify me on calls/texts/emails. only shoes up with small icon not sender and details etc

I'm considering this as an alternative. Cheaper than the second generation, but it has a display with a clock etc. amazon.co.uk/gp/…VVU

Second generation is already available, if you buy direct.

$13.99 for the 1S (with heart rate monitor) from Geekbuying, who I have used a lot. Don't know why, but the delivery comes via Royal Mail.

I have this (the 1S) and it is great, way more features than I would have expected for a tenner and battery lasts me a month, can't beat it for the price.

As with any tracker under £50-£100 there is always some activities that aren't tracked properly, but overall the accuracy is very good and on a par with anything twice the price or more.

excellent for the price, good custom software support & forum, the longest the battery lasted on mine was 70 days from a single charge

had to laugh at the person who complained it wasn't accurate when they were pushing a trolley.. no sh1t sherlock!

other than the lack of screen, this is the best band out there and a fraction of the cost of others. Battery lasts a month or so, alarm is brilliant. if you want more features than the official apps limitations then for android get mi band notify and fitness

Love mine. Works better with android, regarding vibrate for phone calls and stuff. Definitely shows you sedentary work days at desk vs active days off. (Work is bad for me...). Distance comparison when running with GPS, not far off. Overall an exciting glimpse of things to come.

I have the pulse version to measure heart rate and these bands are brilliant I paid £18 on Amazon next day delivery I love how it monitors my sleep and is pretty accurate for counting steps. Mine works fine on the iPhone 5s.

Is there one that is accurate that is waterproof too? I only really do swimming but I've got a bit tired of counting laps.

looks good, thanks op

The 1S is a brilliant device. Its waterproof, battery lasts 30 days unlike other devices. And costs £12!
If you haven't ever worn one of these devices its a no brainer to buy it. As people say - it's prob the best on the market, almost regardless of the price.

Sleep: Frankly, my main use for it.
I find it logs my sleep accurately - to the minute - only a bare few times its missed whats going on.
I was so worried about the readings showing how little deep sleep I was getting (under 2hrs a night) I set up a camera on time lapse - unfortunately it confirmed the band was near totally accurate. My brother on the other hand is very obese and has problems with it being very inaccurate - now thinking it is accurate but maybe he has sleep apnea which is going undiagnosed.

Pedometer - its accurate apart from when you go for a run, then it doesn't seem to work well, but other than that have no complaints.

It is accurate and waterproof - I can't say its as good as the following MiFit 2.0 test - but you will have no probs.

Well that review is nice looking and I'm a bit forlorn about the lack of display, but for 12 quid I'm happy to see what results I get for walking/sleeping, so that's on the way with Quidco already tracked.

I remain unconvinced with regard to the swimming aspect though. I don't expect it to match the 28m I've taking my diving watch to (for no reason) but I'd like to know if I can wear it in the pool to <=2m for sustained periods and measure my heart rate through a gym/swim/sauna/steam session.

Furthermore, as I wear a waterproof watch (probably unnecessarily!) in the pool anyway and have also to wear a locker key, would this work around an ankle for those periods or does that change the equation somewhat?
