I guess so it can be checked before it goes live.
Love this phone just wish it had band 20 to help me out as I live out in the stick and have to dangle out a window to receive signal.

Hi. I'm a right noob when it comes to the technicalities of smart phones. What difference does band 20 make. I have one of these phones and have no issues with connectivity or speed of data. I'm with Virgin mobile if that makes a difference?

Band 20 refers to the 800mhz frequency, the lowest frequency used by mobile operators. The lower the frequency, the wider the coverage area. Mobile operators use a range of frequency's, and don't offer all services across all frequencies. Virgin for example don't use the 800mhz frequency at all, hence you will notice no issues, whereas o2 only deliver 4G on their 800mhz frequency ( 4g.co.uk/4g-frequencies-uk-need-know/ ). As mobile operators work to drive costs down, by using lower frequencies that require less masts across a wider area, dependency on band 20 will increase.

Typing on a Mi Max 2 I bought a year ago for about 170. This deal should be superhot.

I'm not sure about band 20 but I live in Hull and am rocking a 4g connection in most areas of the city. The phone has an incredible battery and will easily get you through the day (and night). If you are big into watching media and listening to music on your phone it's a great choice because the screen is huge. A lot of people ask if it's a phone or tablet but I think it's a cool talking point!

Even if you're planning a holiday and don't want to take your S9 or iphone x this would be a great choice as a stand in. Get a case though because the phone is slippy to hold because of the size and the back is very smooth.

137.20 is a bargain.
I'm struggling with the link, saying my connection isn't private and taking me back to the sweet safety of hukd.
Anyone have another link please?

Much like Amazon Microsoft Apple Deal extreme. Banggood then.......
Seem to be some odd decisions being made.
Was a pity as it was for Scourge Of War Waterloo strategy game half price
Xiaomi have reduced the price of this phone as the mi Max 3 is being launched this month or poss June. I have a Max 1 and I'm waiting for the Max 3 as the Max 2 didn't offer much of an upgrade from the Max 1.

Totally agree I'm waiting too. All I have to say in addition is that xiaomi are excellent value for money, I had to push myself to buy a Galaxy s7 edge after the Mi Max, only because the Galaxy has a superior camera. I've the ordered the misses a 'mi a1' with pure android on it, looking forward to receiving it shortly.

I've a note 5 sat at Heathrow to replace my wife's note 5, it doesn't really need replacing but I think she'll find the bigger screen useful and I'm keen to test the dual camera to see if Xiaomi are making any progress in improving their cameras.

Ahhhh,I see. I got lucky in that case. I had no idea I should be looking out for such things.

any import duty to be paid?

in theory ..yes ..in practical way..no..most of us never paid it when bought from china..
Just ship slow post as express delivery has a higher chance of duty.

Thanks but I'll wait for the official launch/spec/price before deciding whether to order the 3, the 2 isn't a big enough upgrade over the 1 so I definitely don't want a 2. There are so many rumors about the spec of the 3 so I'll wait for the prelaunch.
Had a mi max1 for well over a year but got the max2 about 5 months now... Slightly better battery and camera, and leaving lot of apps open doesn't slow the phone down much. Using on 3 sim, got occasionally well over 60mbs down on 4g. There isn't any phone on the market that even comes close to this device, so stunning price/deal.

I'm with Virgin and get 40mb downland speed and never had issues, in some remote places Internet connection can briefly be poor, but that was exactly the same when I had the iPhone with band 20 in the same spots.

Just avoid O2 and networks that piggyback off them like Giff Gaff and 4G isn't an issue. Think Vodafone to be avoid also. Three and EE work great, Virgin and Plusnet piggyback off EE.

Basically, don't worry about band 20! This phone is superb value at this price. I paid about 200 for mine and even at that it's super value.

Agreed super value. I've had the first redmi note then the redmi note 3 which is a great smaller phone but much less battery than this beast. I've never noticed any issues overheating or slowdown when multiple apps opening. Looking forward to the Max 3. No going back to smaller phones!
Just wanted to post a bit about the Mi Max 2, which I bought this time last year. I have been so impressed with this piece of kit, that I won't ever go back to the likes of Hamstrung of iPhoney. I had thought that if it hadn't lasted this long, then at around £140, it wasn't too great a loss. I travel a lot for work and watch films/shows on my Mi Max 2 and it's brilliant. I couldn't go back to a normal sized phone though! Anyone hesitating about buying one of these - don't. You most definitely won't be disappointed.

My experience pretty much the same as yours in that it's used predominantly on the train watching films on the train commuting to work. I also couldn't go back to normal screen size.
All in all a great bit of kit for the money. Seems just as fast as my s8 plus and the battery lasts twice as long without a charge.
I think in a year's time I will be looking at the Mi mix series.

I was looking at the Mi Mix for future plans, if/when this one croaks it. Smaller screen and battery on the Mi Mix 2. Although the Mi Mix 3 is same size screen (as Mi Max 2) it's got a smaller battery, but more RAM.
