Can someone clarify the meaning of all those Global or International …Can someone clarify the meaning of all those Global or International versions? It doesn't support Band 20 which is widely used in EU and Russia.Unless the seller or Xiaomi defines Global by excluding those countries...

See here: hotukdeals.com/com…695

"Global Version" = Official Xiaomi naming. They are versions sold outside of China. Usually the Singapore/Indonesia/Malaysia market versions. Pre-installed with Global ROM. All "Global Version" Redmi phones so far have had B20 but not all Mi phones do. Mi A1, Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix 2 have B20 versions whereas the "Global Version" of Mi Max 2 and Mi 6 lack B20.

"International Version" = Gearbest naming. Not official. It refers to what AliExpress sellers would call "Global ROM" version which are the China market version flashed with Global ROM by seller and don't have B20. Since the words "international" and "global" can be considered to be interchangeable, some other sellers like Honorbuy have Redmi Note 4 Global Version< titled as "International" even though on Gearbest, "International" is different. So because of inconsistency with Xiaomi's "Global Version" phones and also because of differences in seller naming conventions, the exact meaning of each is blurred.

Mi Max3 is due, or has just come out (I forget exactly), so this is the discount time to clear old stock. Decent phone if you dont want the "New Model" bragging rights; but then people dont buy Xiaomi for bragging rights (other than "haha! you paid HOW much??!!").

This Mi Max 2 came out in May/June and the original Mi Max came out May of last year. The Mi Max 3 is not due in the foreseeable future so no, this isn't discount to clear old stock.

All down to screen size, can you cope with a 6.44 inch screen

we have the mi max 1 and the Redmi note 4, I need the larger screen for my eyesight - both are excellent phones

I now use aliexpress as I like their tracking and stock protection, I'd use gearbest at a push but not for presale or brand new models, and I wouldn't use any of the rest.

This has been out a while. You're probably thinking of the Mi Mix 2, which is more than double the price.

It's mix versus max.

No band 20, not sure it will work properly on UK networks.

Please can anyone advise me what delivery I should take, and if customs would apply (depending on delivery option)? Never ordered from this site before and I heard much horror stories.

My mistake then, I received an email from Xiaomi last week about a model launch; I was sure it was a new Mi Max model.
Brain meds are making me a but fuzzy............

OK went for a quick rummage and found an announcement for a Mi MIX 2 being launched; not sure what a MIX is, but there you go.

Mix = Xiaomi's "bezel-less" flagship phones
Max = Essentially a larger version of the Redmi Note 3/4 (Snapdragon) that came before it

Thanks for the advice above. I will choose free shipping and cross my fingers!

It is used in UK as well by all operators . Don't buy this phone.

Only UK mobile operators that won't get 4g on this phone are o2, sky, giffgaff & Tesco. Check out 4g.co.uk/4g-…ow/

The likes of ee, vodafone, virgin, by, 3 should all work with 4g on this phone

I have Xiaomi mi6 without B20 and I have always had 4G everywhere I've been.

Great phone for the price, works well on three, and screen big enough to watch tv on.

Xiaomi model names/numbers are ill thought out.

Thank you for clarifying.

Apart from the screen size is this better processor wise than the note 4 4gb

I have the original mi Max, best phone I ever had. Replaced iPhone 5s. Never looked back.

Got one yesterday. Took delivery at 10 am. Turned on to 85% battery.

Updated it. Thrashed it most of the day transfering from old phone, YouTube, games etc.

Finally ran out of power at 11am this morning. Charged it to 100% which took About 1 hour. 4 hours in, down to 92%

Mainly bought it because I'm traveling to Japan for a holiday soon so wanted something durable and long lasting, and not having to worry about battery drain is awesome.

I am on 3 and 4g is fine here.

No band 20, not sure it will work properly on UK networks.

I have this on three and see no issues what so ever not having band 20

Quick Question: If you didn't buy the Global/International Version, i.e. if you bought the Chinese Version, how tricky would it be to install Google Play Store and change the Language to English? Thanks in Advance!

NFC?

I too have the original mi max. Still going strong, so will wait. Suppose my next phone will need NFC as mi max 1 hasn't got this and I don't think the 2 has either.

Ordered this phone from GearBest back in August. All I got was an empty box. Avoid!

Took nearly two months for mine to arrive from Gearbest.
