Seems an amazing price for the 128gb model? Im guessing there may be some vouchers we may be able to use on top of this too.

That's an excellent price. Heat
Doubt there will be any vouchers. That's the lowest I've seen for 128GB

Anyone know if it makes a difference that this is coming from HK warehouse?

They ALL come with a stock Chinese ROM/Language and MIUI 8 installed, its not much of a mess about to change the language but you still get some Chinese text....upgrading the MIUI to 9.1 increased stability however the Chinese writing still appears on some apps... you can install another launcher etc and with a bit of fettling this is by far the best phone out there.... cant comment on customs other than to say you may get lucky but if you dont its 20% and other fees on top

It says this is the international version. So I think it comes with Global Rom.

Would that not go through DHL and mean 100% chance of customs?

I would, as - as others have mentioned - the faster delivery options seem to have a higher rate of customs catching....

As a side note, please dont forget, these wont necessarily have Google Play Service installed, and if it has it may throw up "server" errors, i deleted the one mine had and sideloaded the latest version, i get the "server" error every now and then but a simple exit and re-opening of the app sorts it out

Grabbed. Thanks!

If it is international then it should have Global Rom and Google Play Services will be fine. Its stated in the Q&A.
Global is default English. There won't be any random Chinese text.

If its not then you can flash Global Rom on it.
This is the non global version

Was it from Gearbest or other?
The international version just got released.

I believe this one is from Gearbest themselves, although i bought it locally the chap said he'd imported it from them, he did mention it had "a" global ROM....but then it was a guy, in a pub, on a Saturday afternoon....and i'd had a few!

Having said that, ive seen a lot of reviews on Xiaomi stuff and most remove the install GP and sideload the latest one to avoid issues...personal choice i reckon...

Global ROM has Google Play pre-installed, but you can also install it onto China ROM but it requires to go through initial setup. Upon first boot up, MIUI asks for language selection. And English is a language option even for China ROM. See here<. If yours was defaulted to Chinese already and had Baidu and Chinese bloat then it's China ROM that was already set up and had Google Play installed afterwards.

In phone settings what does it say for your MIUI version?

This would be the current China ROM:
en.miui.com/dow…tml

You can identify a China ROM from the letter code. It will contain CN in the middle. E.g: 8.5.7.0 NDECNEF. Whereas Global ROM contains MI in the middle. E.g 9.1.1.0 NDEMIEI.

We have the mi redmi 4 and use the stock play store and never had any issues. We also don't have any Chinese text anywhere without any rom flashing.

I'd be all over this if it had stock android / android one.

Me too. It'll come down again mate

No way in using a headphone jack with this right? Even with an accessory to go with it

I ordered the Mi Note2 global version from gearbest. Arrived yesterday. Google play is installed and all in English. Didn't have UK when choosing region. Selected France instead. Then updated phone. Took about 10 mins. It's Miui 8.5 now. UK then appeared as a region to select and I'm all set up. I'm on 3 network, my phone didn't have Band 20, but I have 4 signal. I paid £208 for the Mi Note 2. Extreme value for money in my opinion. It took 3 weeks for phone to arrive and no duty to pay. Hope this explains a few things and feel free to ask if you need any more info

I ordered Mi Note2 from gearbest HK warehouse, global version and it comes with Google play etc. I only downloaded Google now launcher.

Just ordered the 6/128 from Geekguying for £342 (Halifax Clarity - added another HK stock item to take price over $500 and added Geekbuy50 for $50 off).

Seems a good deal.. don't think it has the global rom though .. not sure how much of a difference that makes

Has anyone who ordered this had it delivered please? I chose the slowest delivery option to reduce risk of import tax but the tracking just shows info received and no sign of the item actually being despatched :-( thanks!

still waiting for mine

Mine arrived yesterday
