Been cheaper, but thanks
I think uk stores should start and sell these import phones, i just think there not in the uk as retailers wont make enough profit on them

I think it maybe more a licencing/patent issue for Xiaomi rather than profit

Xiaomi will have to open service and support centre s in this country , which they are very reluctant to do. Now they just say the phone is not made to work in this country if you have any issues and wash their hands .But still voted hot.

If they did they'd be much more expensive. Main reason grey imports are so cheap is not only because of low running costs (cheap warehouse in HK and a few people dealing with administration) but also that there's no tax to worry about. These phones wouldn't be nearly as attractive if UK store running costs and taxes were factored in

The problem is that we in uk want phone contracts so carriers need to take these phone on but they won't. I buy my phones now and stick to sim only. I laugh when people say. I'm getting a free upgrade
They opened an official store near me in Madrid and I think they've now opened a second. So maybe soon they'll arrive in the UK. Prices are obviously slightly higher than the Chinese import prices though.

Yes they would be more expensive but only the 20% VAT, so for example the new MI MIX 2S is £370 launch price for the 6gb / 64gb model, so 20% more = £444 so still half the price of the latest iphone or samsung and every bit as good in build quality and performance if not actually better. Also they will eventually open a store in the UK they now have stores in Spain, Greece, Poland and are about to open in Italy. They are expanding into the western market and have said they intend to officially sell phones in the USA by the end of the year

Like i said above they are expanding into the western market opening stores in the above countries. With regard to service centre if they didn't do it their selves in their stores they would do what HUAWEI do and use a independent uk mobile service centre
Oh nearly forgot Sam they will have band 20
