Now the Mi Mix2S is here the Mi Mix2 has dropped again.
My original deal at £320 hit 864° now it's £32 cheaper.
It's a real corker of a phone, I am so pleased with mine.
Looks and feels every bit the flagship phone it is.

Global Version Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Mobile Phone
6GB 64GB
Snapdragon 835 Octa Core
5.99" 2160X1080 Full Screen Display
Ceramic Body

Quick spec list
5.99" screen 2160X1080 18:9
6GB/64GB
Snapdragon 835
3400mAh battery
4-axis OIS camera
Quick Charge 3.0

OK, it has a non-removable battery and no headphone socket (a USB-C adapter is included in the box to remedy this). The screen is 'only' 1080p but it looks pretty sharp to me. My Samsung Note4 had a higher res but I think this looks just as good.

I know some people are wary of ordering phones direct from China but this is my 3rd Xiaomi phone from the 'Mi Global Store' on AliExpress, I don't think they are an official Xiaomi store but I've always had prompt (2 weeks) delivery, no duty to pay and fab phones. All are still in use by various family members (Note3, Note4 and the Mi Mix2)

For more details on the phone itself have a look at Xiaomi's website

The Mi Mix2s is only on pre-order at the moment and the price is around £450

Yeah, my bad, didn't check before posting. Thought it was a deal at this price. Oh well.

Very true, my son works in Hong Kong and buy in his local Xiaomi store, but that's not an option for most poeple now is it?

What does this have to do with buying from aliexpress? I don't really understand your post if I'm honest.

Not a thing, the post I was replying to was that any Xiaomi phone is cheaper in their retail outlets in China and HK (the post hasn't quoted for some reason). Which is true, but not helpful if you don't live there...

Not true, my parents were out in HK in Dec/Jan and I asked them to look for me. Xiaomi actually don't have much of a presence in HK and only available online. Very few physical stores actually stocked them.

My cousin lives in HK and couldn't find them cheaper than what is available to us in the UK via Aliexpress, in fact they were more expensive.

He was talking about the phone being cheaper in 3 other online stores within the AliExpress website, not a physical store.

Then they didn't look hard enough, I've been to the Xiaomi store in HK when I visited my son at the end of last year, my son's bought a number of phones there and in the, admittedly bigger stores, in China.
What's the chances of being asked to pay tax when you order from AliExpress. Ordered a Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus yesterday and got a message today just to let me know that if there was tax that I would pay it.

If you've had it shipped China post, there's a very slight chance you might get hit. If you had it shipped via DHL or another carrier, you will get a tax bill and a processing charge from the carrier.

They have put a $45 value on my item. Any idea of the likely charges.

Well $45 is around £32. The limit on free from tax is £18. So it would depend on how it's shipped. If China post it might slip through, if it's a carrier then the odds are you'll get hit with tax and a processing fee from the carriers for paying the tax for you. This fee is normally between £8 and £12 depending on the carrier.
HRMC have got Stricter recently, stopping most of the parcels now which are valued over $25 , I had to pay around £13 each on 2 parcels.
