Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Global ROM - £320.46 @ Ali Express

Found 25th Jan
27/02 dropped in price to £320.46 using code 2BGXMix2

I got this phone recently and I think it's astounding for the price. This came with Global ROM out of the (sealed) box and has B20. OTA updates are coming through.

As it is almost bezel-less the size of the phone is no larger than most 5.5" phones.

This is a genuine flagship phone.

Quick spec list
5.99" screen (1080p) 18:9
6GB/64GB
Snapdragon 835
3400mAh battery (lasts me 2 days)
4-axis OIS camera
Quick Charge 3.0

OK, it has a non-removable battery and no headphone socket (a USB-C adapter is included in the box to remedy this). The screen is 'only' 1080p but it looks pretty sharp to me. My Samsung Note4 had a higher res but I think this looks just as good.

I know some people are wary of ordering phones direct from China but this is my 3rd Xiaomi phone from the 'Mi Global Store' on AliExpress, I don't think they are an official Xiaomi store but I've always had prompt (2 weeks) delivery, no duty to pay and fab phones. All are still in use by various family members (Note3, Note4 and the Mi Mix2)

For more details on the phone itself have a look at Xiaomi's website

You send it to Poland ( their eu offices- they have closed their Spanish depo) for fixing and it returns unopened. They will not refund your money or do anything then insisting you send to China to be looked at. Photos, videos, and explanation ignored. Three months without a phone !

That's the risk you take buying from china, the 3 phones iv had, over the past 4 years, are all still working as new. You just got unlucky.
It's an absolutely beautiful phone. They say the Chinese are immitators not innovators but it's clear that the original Mi Mix concept has been copied by the likes of Samsung and Apple.

Quite tempted by this, but can't justify it at the moment. Seems like a good price to me. Thanks OP. Love the full screen!

If Xiaomi make a proper presence here then this would be really good but until then personally i feel anything more than £100 is a bit risky as thomasbentley has shown

Get you credit card issuer involved, ( you did pay by credit card didn't you?)
What happened to ThomasBentley is not right.
Whats wrong with the phone? I saw a comment on HOTUKDeals on a tool to reflash firmware. Tried that option yet?
Is AlieExpress or the seller on AliExpress not dealing with the issue? If not, as mentioned, your credit card company could help.
AliExpress works in a similar way to eBay. So it's seller's fault, not AliExpress'. thomasbentley, which seller was it?

Yep mine is working fine too. If I get 10 china phones and one goes bad then you just write it off, I wouldn't go above 150 as I can't afford any more exposure than that. So this is a nice phone but I'm sticking with my RN4. Heat though if you can afford the exposure / lose 300 plus if it goes bad. I might not have the same attitude if my RN4 had gone bad but Thomas Bentley needs to get a RN4 just put it down to experience

Just to be clear, was your phone the same model as the one this deal is for?
price on this is getting better and better.
Can't understand why they continue to give with one hand while taking away with the other however!

"You want NFC? Sure thing, here you go! Oh, BTW, you're not having any expandable memory..."
I have seen it for 307
Oh and don't forget TCB which should be around £12 or so.

Its only a matter of time IMO. Personally can't wait. Could be just the shake up our market needs.
What does this offer over the mi max 2? As others have said I'm pretty wary of spending this kinda money from China.

Mi max2 has mid range SD625 same as RN4 I think. The Mi Mix2 has the range topping SD835 which is the SOC used in other flagship models like Samsung S8. Also has fancy bezel less screen
This, the MI A1 or MI 6? Anyone?
Why don't they do with wireless charging? Grrrrrr!
Bought one via Geekbuying 3 months ago and my only gripe is the camera. I'm hoping that will be fixed with the Oreo global ROM update that is imminent.
Always a risk buying from China but so far I have no complaints.
Quality build and very slick.
Good case and tempered glass recommendations please
No warranty. No likey.
Great find! Thanks OP!
Arrrrh..... About to order but now having second thoughts! Help please....... This or Mi note 2 which is £100 cheaper? Thanks

I had the same dilemma. The Mi Note2 that is £230ish is not the global one so will not have Band20. If this is not important then maybe I would have gone for it. Choose the global version and the price shoots up to over £300

It's showing as the global rom Mi note 2 from HK store on AliExpress.
Possible 4.56% cashback from Topcashback (£14.77)?
The specs (basic variety) on the screen are the same as the one in the Redmi 5 Plus, 5.99 inches and 403ppi. Surely it can't be the same screen??
FYI, just ordered using the standard shipping and got a message from the Mi Store seller 'recommending' I upgrade to DHL shipping otherwise I might be unlucky. They send you a link to a separate shipping option which is £28 so if you are thinking about DHL, you could save £5 if you wait for this message as its £33 on the product page.

also, chinese new year is Feb 16 2018 so take that into account as processing and shipping will take longer the closer we get to that date.
Beautiful phone but I actually prefer to have some bezel. Easier to hold and type.

Hi bepurple, it can get confusing. Global rom and global version are totally separate, the rom signifies the OS that is loaded onto the phone and the version is the physical phone itself. You can change the rom by flashing another version onto it but nothing you can do to change the version.

In this case the phone version itself is the one built for the Chinese market and doesn't have B20.
There is a global version that was built with B20 - unfortunately this isn't it, that one costs a lot more.
Then again if you don't need B20 - go for it. I would have.

These are the bands listed on the phone you linked (it's in the specs at the bottom)
4G: FDD LTE B3:1800/B1:2100/B7:2600/B5:850MHz; TD LTE B38:2600/B39:1900/B40:2300/B41:2500MHz;
CDMA:BC0;

I've always gone for standard shipping, OK it takes a little longer but it usually comes in around 2 weeks. I'd rather save the money TBH. An extra £28 seems excessive to me and 5-8 working days is not actually that much quicker.

I have an old battered phone to tide me over if my main phone dies on me.

I think because the back is ceramic, not glass.

Oh wow..... Thanks for the detailed explanation. I would have bought it based on the fact it said global rom. I'm not a very technical or patient person so I'd rather have a phone that works straight out of the box.

Tempered glass protector. This is the one I ordered.
aliexpress.com/sna…747

I also ordered one of the ultra thin gel covers, I prefer these as they don't add much bulk to the phone. Also they feel nice and grippy in the hand. There is a case included with the phone but I thought it was still a little slippery.

Lol... What I mean is not having to flash the rom to get Google play to work etc and I was referring to the one listed as global rom rather than global version.
