Seems to be the best price going for the 128gb global version of the Mi Mix 2s. Would personally say its worth the extra £50 for 128gb rather than the 64gb. $569.99 works out around £422 using a fee free card (Nationwide Select, Barclaycard platinum, Revolut, Monza etc.)

I have the mix 2 which has the front camera in the same place. It's awkward, but if you turn they phone upside down it's perfect. The screen rotates so it's the right way up - i.e you can't tell the phone is upside down. For the odd occasion when I need the front camera it's a suitable solution.

I've been with OnePlus since the OnePlus one all the way up to the 3t. At that point I got fed up with buggy software and the fact that the later devices were so expensive. Initially they were flagship killers at lower prices, but now they're just ok devices at flagship prices.

I didn't wait for the 2s as I killed my OnePlus 3t with a single drop of condensation dropping from a glass onto the fingerprint sensor so needed a phone quickly. I bought from Ali express and got the 128gb mi mix 2 for £350 (is much cheaper now). It arrived in 7 days with no import taxes or fees.

I'm still happy with the 2, even knowing there's a newer model out. The only minor thing is the weight, but that's because it's ceramic. It's not a problem, you just notice it when picking up someone else's phone.

They've toned down MIUI a lot since the last time a used a Xiaomi a few years ago. With Nova launcher installed you barely notice it. The only exception to that is Google Smart lock, which doesn't work even under Oreo. I wish they'd fix that as I'd like the phone to stay unlocked when in range of my Android watch. Saying that, it's only a minor gripe as the fingerprint sensor is very quick and accurate, much better than the one on my OnePlus.

So you can get this at £50 cheaper than the op6 standard 64gb, and people are saying that the op6 is priced competitively.... I call BS.

It using UK priority line; haven't had to pay customs using this method before. Think they send it in bulk to UK and then post individual items from here.

That is cool.
I'm lost! Looking for a new phone and was stuck between the Oneplus 6 or the P20 Pro.... now after a little research I'm also looking at this or the Xiaomi mi7 when released... very much open to any suggestions from anyone with a bit of knowledge if they would be so kind!
Don't know a huge amount about the OnePlus or P20 Pro, but was put off the mi7 mockups which seem like it will have a notch.. much prefer the look of the Mi Mix 2s in that regard.

I'm in the same boat, what matters to me is build quality, hand fee, software and camera quality, trouble is these are pretty much unknowns or totally subjective. Not heard much on the Oneplus camera(s), don't even get the point of the second lens, really only for portrait mode?

I can try out the P20 Pro in store and plenty of good info online, but the others have to pretty much guess based on some fairly subjective reviews.

I am leaning towards the P20 Pro due to the camera and reviews state the build quality is really good but I've also read a lot of people rave about the quality of xiaomi phones but unsure how good the camera would be in practical terms. Your right about the OP 6 dual lens... I've seen a few reviews question it's purpose.

Did you get the special edition? I opted for the standard mix 2 special edition for the slightly smaller ceramic unibody at around £50 less than the 2s. I don't use the camera much and every review stated the performance difference isn't perceivable.

The special edition is gorgeous and incredibly well made. Everyone comments on the phone. I'm seriously pleased with the purchase. I also bought for similar reasons. My honour view 10 exploded with a single drop from hip height. Hopefully this is more durable.
Mi Mix 2 user here - over the moon with mine. Camera is well on par with most phones. Not up there with Pixel 2 and S9 but very close I'd say. Only downside is the front facing camera as people have mentioned, but if you aren't a regular selfie taker then no dramas. Cracking phone for this money.

No, I don't believe it's a special edition of any kind. Just a 128gb block ceramic global version.

I'm extremely happy and can't see myself ever going back to OnePlus.
I think I just made this Hot!

I have a P20 Pro atm, usually run an LG V30 though and while the P20 is good (the cameras really are exceptional) I would still go for the Mi Mix 2s. It's nearly half the price of the P20 Pro and I'd say it's a better device bar the cameras. Certainly it gets software updates more frequently. You can also stick Lineage OS on it if that's more your thing and the build quality is easily the match of the P20 Pro. Also I'm having software issues with the Pro, probably because I'm using Nova Launcher but I don't get them with any other phone using it. The One Plus 6 is too expensive, has no wireless charging or waterproofing and they'll be a 6T in 6 months I'll bet with those features.

Recently got a Teclast F7 laptop from GB using EU Express delivery and no customs at all. Conversely, got a Sharp Aquos S2 from Joybuy (i.e much smaller, cheaper package) and got charged 30 quid.

If anyone wants an even bigger screen, I think the Mi Max 3 is due either this month or next. It'll come with a 7 inch screen, but only the snapdragon 635. Should support wireless changing. . .
I'm a huge Mi Mix fanboy now since getting my Mix 2 (not S) a few weeks ago. It's been absolutely faultless, exquisitely built, fast as hell and all for £270 delivered. If and when I change phones, I'm pretty sure it will be another Xiaomi Mix model if they carry on the way they're going.

Have to say I've never been disappointed by a Xiaomi phone yet, I've had a Redmi Note 3, Note 4 and Mi A1. All have been superb performers and fantastic value for money.

What's the battery life realistically like on this?

This may be a big assumption, but if it's anything like the Mi Mix 2 I'd say it will be pretty good.

I have Bluetooth (connected to a smart watch), WiFi, GPS on all the time and push email plus notifications. I take the phone off charge around 6am and usually have in excess of 60% when I go to bed at 10pm. The quick charge is also phenomenally fast, so even when I do run the battery down more it tops up in no time.
