Mrswitch does it again! How does it compare against flagships from OnePlus, Huawei and LG (not mentioning the S word)
That's probably the nicest looking phone I've ever seen 🔥

I really can't comment on comparisons, because I've never used the comparable P20, op6 or lg g7.

I'm sure some lovely helpful person will have one of these and can compare.
Black a few pound cheaper. Is this the global version that I won't have any Google pay NFC issues with?

Nope I own one too and have no issues with it

No, none at all, haven't found any faults yet, although I'm sure something will pop up haha
I had one, briefly. The IPS panel is not great and it has a very low pixel response. It has ghosting and trailing when you swipe & scroll. Not everyone is susceptible to this and the vast majority of people won't see it, but for me, it gave me a headache (literally) and I sold it on after a few days.

And before anyone says it, it wasn't a faulty panel. They're all like it, whether you see the blur or not.

A few other owners have highlighted this issue, but as it's subjective, most reviews don't mention it.

The phone is beautiful, powerful, well built and the camera takes some seriously amazingly pictures. I was absolutely gutted about the screen though. I'd be using it as my 'daily driver' if I couldn't see the blur.

I've had dozens of IPS & AMOLED phones (I usually go through 3-4 phones a year) and I have never had issues with blur/ghosting on any previous phone. It's something that only affects this model and probably the Mix 2 as well (same panel, I believe?).

Just to confirm, I was going to hold out for pixel 3, to move up from nexus 6p.

Having decided to eff google off, I shopped around for a decent snapdragon 845 phone and switchy found a good price on this and I bit the bullet.

Lovely phone. No issues.

How much did you bite for? I'm trying to hold out for a drop on this when the next version is announced/released but my Wileyfox Swift 2X is really frustrating me atm

I took it for about £380 geekbuying who fiddled it with no customs. Took maybe three weeks or two?

Stingy switchy got it probably £50 less than me. I think he’s of a lower caste and eats a lot of lentils.

I’ve often been tempted by the wileyfox for as a budget handset for older relations - has it ever been any good?

I've been mostly pleased with it and were it not for the rescue package and Oreo update i would've jumped by now. Not that it's not a fine phone. I'm just after an upgrade and dual lens camera. That said I've been recently finding it randomly rebooting and getting stuck in subsequent bootloops (so I couldnt recommend to older relatives because of that) Factory resets haven't resolved it and I currently have an issue that nine times out of ten a power button press will register as two and the camera will turn on! Most frustrating. Camera is good and can't fault the phone except for what I've already said. It's pretty nippy and takes photos I'm happy with, particularly outdoors. Got it for £150 this time last year and if I can sell on for £50 it'll bring the price down to £300 for Mi Mix 2S and I'll be pleased. It's just the amount I have sitting in my topcashback account lol

Haha, I was looking loads for cheap prices, everytime I saw one I posted it, and then ended up buying one privately for £350 in white, which is the one I wanted, plus it came with a 12 month warranty, so I got a great deal.

Mine was black, but I’d like to emphasise there’s no racial element to this coincidence!

FYI, I just has the one big update from new. Mine actually arrived before switchy, but alas, I did not!

Go one step further and do a hard reset as that may fix. Factory rest doesn't always work but I don't know if you will be starting the hard reset in Chinese so look into it

This or the Mi8?

Quite difficult, but they are basically the same phone, and the mix 2s is gonna get an update to the camera through ota soon, to bring it on par with the mi 8.

So I'd go with the mix 2s, as It doesn't have a silly notch
Too bad it isn't waterproof

It is..............................

If you don't take it outside, or in the pool, or in the shower, basically anywhere where it can get wet, then it is waterproof.

Good day sir

Yeah. Mate done a few factory reset on his phone that never fixed the lock ups and reboots. I can't remember which brand but phone came with an international rom. When he hard reset the first part was in chinese. He just followed youtube tutorial. I didn't realise at the time that there was a difference between hard rest and factory reset

I bought the 128gb ver. A few weeks back from eglobal. It was Sealed and marked global on the box.
It's a Great device, but a couple of weak points for me are the screen brightness, wish it was 10-15% brighter. And microphone for recording seems tinny... ( Both points mentioned in some reviews) that said I would still definitely recommend this phone.

The camera is amazing BUT it has a tendancy to "beautify" almost all photos (even with this mode off)...and low light shots are hit & miss. Most of these niggles (not screen brightness) should be fixed with miui 10 which should be out in stable form imminently.
Edited by: "insideman" 13th Jul
Hi. I'm right in saying unlike the mi8 I don't need to mess about with this when I get it? With ROMs I mean.
Cracking looking phone for the money
Should I wait for the A2? Hmmm...
