This phone requires a rom flash, do if you aren't confident enough, then don't get this.

If you are confident, then this is a cracking price.

I saw the white one but went for the Black Shark in the end for £299.
This deserves heat especially for the white version
Lovely device
If I didn't have this damn razer phone I would bite
Plus custom.
Will banking apps work after it has been flashed
Flashing is only half the story. You also need the bootloader to be unlocked which renders banking apps and Google pay inoperable on the global rom and no doubt any other apps that require a locked bootloader.

If you try locking it won't work and cause a boot loop. Xiaomi have done this on purpose to stop users buying the cheaper Chinese version and reflashing.

Price is good but beware the issues.

According to the XDA forum look out for the international version:

The INTERNATIONAL VERSION of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S has the Xiaomi Global Official Rom MIUI 9 which supports Google services (Play Store and Play Services) and OTA updates. The Band 20 (800MHz) is supported.
The box and the user manual of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S International Version are in English and the charger has European plug.

Worth mentioning JB mark down the full value

Most of us who ordered the Sharp Aquos recently (£116.00) got hit with £30.00 customs / handling

Sounds like a good way of doing business to me, Mark something down because they know it will get hit with customs. Suppose its better than aliexpress trying to avoid it.
We did indeed. Of course, it's absolutely the right thing they do but still......

..... and a lot of us that ordered the oneplus 5t got hit as well. Cost me and a lot of others another £70 on top of the £310 purchase price. I'd definitely factor it in when buying from JB.

The poster meant JB put the exact selling price on the packaging, although I can see why you responded like you did....or have I been whooshed?

Can flash global international ROM if you wait 360 hours, 2 weeks WITHOUT unlocking bootloader. Head over to XDA

Awesome smartphone apparently. I'm convinced if this was android one it would have been a 2017/2018 'classic' to rival the very best.
This will get the Mi8 camera software update according to this.

This has B20 but not all of the bands which the global version has.

Wish the shark could be rooted, I would have gone for it.

Well I'm a little concerned about some of the limitations this may have. I've ordered it and it's showing as on its way. I do use banking apps... Google pay... Other things that will require secure phone. So as things stand it doesn't look too promising for me. It could be around £400 down the pan... Maybe I'll need to try it all on the Chinese rom with English language selected. I can't spend any more time trawling through different websites trying to find out about flashing this. There is too much conflicting info... Yes... I've read you can flash but need to leave bootloader unlocked... I've also read you can lock it... I guess I'll be able to try it all out. . Maybe someone will find a solution

Hi, I suggest you try and cancel it if you are unsure. If you could flash the global and lock the bootloader, it be worth it, but from my limited research locking the bootloader causes boot loops. Check out the mi mix 2s threads for the link to mifourms and the peeps on there moaning. However i haven't checked out the xda forum fully, you might be able to trick the apps by flashing and mucking around with stuff.

Dropping 400 quid on a phone with no warranty has put me off the mi 2s. Looking at the oneplus 6 now, amazon sell it in Europe and if anything goes wrong Amazon well help even better customer services than oneplus. I doubt these Chinese outfits will want to know.

The best place to buy at the moment is Gearbest:

gearbest.com/cel…tml

I've just had it delivered and it is the global version with the global LTE chip and global ROM with locked bootloader. I haven't tested Google Pay because I don't use it but I have updated the firmware to the latest global version with no difficulties (no messing around with the bootloader - all through the phone's standard firmware update procedure).
