Mine has been delivered this morning. Think I was one of last to order at £299 - so glad I took the plunge when I did and didn't wait til I got home from work.
rambobambo05/06/2019 17:58

Anyone had dispatch emails yet???

DPD arrived with mine today but the box was torn so the delivery driver recommended checking the package - had a look inside and it was full of business cards for some French hotel or business, but no phone. Refused delivery and now need to try and get money back.

Has anyone received delivery? Whatever you do CHECK THE PACKAGE BEFORE ACCEPTING DELIVERY.

That's really weird! My outer box was also ripped, so I opened it up to check on the condition of the Mi box inside, perfectly fine so accepted it. No weird business cards either, thankfully!
Now im nervous, lol. I always feel awkward signing for stuff, I dont wanna feel even more awkward asking my courier if I can check inside before I sign.

Mine has been STOLEN also, replaced with a couple of bricks of business cards!!!!

That's shocking! Mine was nowhere near as bad.
37829508-63qR3.jpg37829508-yuSRR.jpgVery similar on opposite sides of the box, however the inner box was fine and delivery note was still inside.
Just checked and mine was supposedly delivered this afternoon. 3 people in the house, but not me, and it says that I signed for it! No one has rung the bell..... Thought that DPD were good!
Dumped outside on the step in this torrential rain. It would be a joke if it weren't a valuable item

This is exactly how mine was - thankfully the delivery driver noticed and I was able to refuse delivery. The courier is Colissimo (France's "La Poste") and my tracking number hasn't been updated to show that delivery was refused (although DPD's tracking shows the refusal). Mi.com live chat said that I'll be refunded when the item is shipped back... It's all extremely farcical and judging by the presence of French business cards in the box appears to have happened on the French side, probably at the Mi.com warehouse.

Did you manage to refuse delivery?

I wouldn't have even been suspicious had the delivery driver not mentioned the rips in the box. Don't let a moment's awkwardness cost you £300 - the driver absolutely won't mind.

Received my phone 10 minutes ago, box was bashed in on one side and looked a tad open, so told the guy I wanted to check for damage, which he had no problem with.

Phone was sealed and no problems so far. They really should have boxed it better though, zero padding inside a big box that damages very easily
My order arrived today at work and signed for by reception but I wasn't in. Will get it tomorrow so fingers crossed.

If there's no phone in the box, or it's been damaged in transit, what's the best way to proceed to get a refund? Contact Xiaomi?

I suppose they'd say it's not their fault if it's been stolen or something and could be a nightmare. Like I say, fingers crossed. Definitely sounds like their packaging isn't good enough though!

Mine was the same, box rip almost open. Phone rattling around in a shipping box that was far too big with no padding. Luckily the phone was was still sealed and perfect.
But they should never have been shipped like this, I've sent Xiaomi the pic's and told them as much!

Mine arrived. Both sides of the shipping box were ripped apart and the phone was clearly visible inside. Luckily, it hadn't been pinched but it's very concerning. I won't be ordering direct from Xiaomi again.

Same as others, box ripped with DPD tapes saying it has been resealed. Thankfully phone was still there.

If you paid via credit card you'll have extra cover, just in case Xiaomi are difficult.

Say you didn't get it and claim a refund. That's what I would do if they dumped my parcel on a doorstep in the rain.

mi.com packaging is so poor. I've ordered from there 4 times, every single time the box has been way too big.

They have him on tracking at the house, it's just that he never rang, faked the signature and dumped the box in the heavy rain.
Ahhh,, and DPD are delivering another one today; hope that George rings the bell this time!

If he faked the signature, you didn't sign for it. Box could have been taken by anyone if it was left outside, if package wasn't handed to you or put in a designated safe place then you would be able to get a refund.

Yes. I've done it before when someone dumped my package outside. If they can't deliver it to me directly, I am not paying for it.

Yes, that's the problem as there is a bus stop opposite and the package can clearly be seen. DPD refused to give me a copy of the signature saying that only the shipper can get that.

It was only because I recently found a package on the doorstep that I suggested the people in the house check outside (package was marked for me, from China, and contained some wireless earbuds- no idea who shipped it as I never ordered it!).

They wouldn't have access to bus stop CCTV but I wouldn't attempt it if you had it, best not to. No point complaining to Xiaomi as they won't do anything.

DPD are usually brilliant in my area, it's one of the most liked UK couriers anyway. I'm surprised they left a parcel outside like that.

Same here- usually. Seems like George could be bothered waiting for a signature in the terrible rain. Driver today is coming a lot later, so probably not him.
Mine was delivered yesterday no complaints here both the packaging box an the phone box in good shape, DPD was good as I had it redirected on Saturday to my work address knowing I wouldn't be home on Monday an was delivered with in the time slot allocated
Nice one too 😁

Back your old device up using Google Drive (done automatically but best to do another backup just before transferring). When you are setting up your new phone, it will give you the option to transfer files from an old device during the setup process.
Xiaomi/Mi.com now saying it will be 3 weeks until I receive a refund. They want to wait to receive the box of French business cards back at the warehouse before they can process the refund. It's ridiculous - the tracking number they issued me now shows that I refused delivery but they refuse to issue a £300 refund. I won't be ordering from these clowns again. Thieves.

Is there any data that you want to specifically keep? Contacts/photos can be backed up to Google separately from Google Drive (using Google Photos/Contacts).

App settings including passwords will not move over, regardless of how you transfer data. You will have to sign in again. Only way data would be transferred is if you are using a password manager or Google's autofill (which is only from Android Pie). Contacts can easily be exported to a vcf file (should be in contact settings, called something like import from storage) - you can email it and download it on your new phone. Otherwise, you should be able to sync with Google account by downloading the Google Contacts app on your old device.

If your old device had Google Photos backup available, your photos will already be accessable on the Google Photos app/website anywhere, including your new device.
