Connected 24 7 are a uk company, who have to obide by the rules as much as the next, if you get a phone described as an mix 3 5g, and it turns up as the 4g version, they haven't got a leg to stand on.

Well no, I wouldn't be worried.
This will prob be a refurbished/used. My mate bought a phone from connected247 it look used had a different make charger?? And some photocopy instructions in it!! Sent it back asap!! Wouldn't waste my time with them!!

Yes it is. Not sold by Amazon but still fulfilled by them. Just as easy to return that in the first 30 days as anything sold by Amazon directly.

The official Xiaomi UK store has this phone for £699. Not sure it's worth that. Only thing lacking is wireless charging and the battery seems a bit small.

Hah just came here to post this.
Using mine at the minute, amazing phone. Paid £240 but that's from Ali Express. Having issues with Google Pay but apart from that it's ace.
Would I find it difficult switching from an iPhone 7 to this?

What kind of issues did you have? Did you buy global or Chinese version?
Only issue is the Google pay won't work. App all set up just NFC won't work for some reason. Great screen full screen and lovely selfie camera. Global rom

did you have to pay customs charge or whatever it is? I'm scared to buy a phone from aliexpress due to extra import fees. Advice?

As you'll probably be aware an iPhone runs iOS, whereas the phone in this deal runs Android. You can't use FaceTime or iMessage whatsoever on Android. Also, there're many apps on iOS that aren't available on Android and vice versa. Android allows you much more flexibility in terms of the user interface, the memory management and updates are just nowhere near as good as iOS. Apple phones cost a lot more in terms of their relative performance. The answer is it's up to you whether you can adapt. I probably could adapt to iOS but I don't want to, although I'm tempted for the far superior Photography apps on iOS but the price to get an iPhone 11 for the best camera performance is very off-putting.

If I were you I'd get a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T as it's half the price of this phone and then if you think yeah I like Android you can upgrade, if you hate Android then you'll have shelled out over £300 and you'll have the hassle of selling a phone you don't like.

They don't it's £699 reduced to £399. So currently it's the same price as this deal.

Apologies, you're right. However if you go to the other sellers list it shows there as Prime so must be seller fulfilled Prime. Not sure if seller fulfilled Prime is straightforward to return in the same way as Amazon fulfilled Prime or not.
Just looked it up, seller fulfilled Prime has to adhere to Amazon's returns policy and this includes the system immediately approving a return and the customer receives a pre paid returns label. I assume the product goes back to the seller rather than Amazon but looks pretty straightforward to return.

You can get this phone for £235 off eBay. Bought one. Return started though.
No 5g out of box. You need to update the firmware to get the 5g.
Heavy, you may need to hire someone to carry it for you.

Mi max 3 128gb on black Friday. The
Parcel is marked as a "HANDSET" in large capitals. And was Re bagged by Royalmail with an official declaration stating the item entered the UK damaged/opened, Royalmail is not liable as the item opened before entering the UK please consult overseas postal service so they can begin investigation. AliExpress don't accept that as evidence! Absolute joke. Alibaba and the forty thieves springs to mind!Edited by: "pisto" 1 s ago

Nope I don't think you've understood me. What I'm saying is in your settings I think it's under NFC or payment something like that it says wallet type. There's a few different acronyms just try changing that should work

I have tried Hce and sim wallet, neither work
I've had this phone around 4 months. It's a nice phone but Xiaomi seem to have forgotten it. No update to MIUI 11 and no mention of android 10.

Even though most of their budget phones already the update. And this isn't cheap as I paid £240.
Apparently it’s something to do with the modem but Samsung have updated their 5g devices....
After a chat with UK support they say NFC will not work with G Pay in the UK.

Personally as I bank with Barclays they don't support Google Pay anyway and you use their own app for contactless payments. I wonder if this would work ok and the issue is just with Google Pay? Also I wonder what the banks think of Xiaomi anyway and if they treat the phones as if they've been rooted so no banking apps.

Barclays there as no option but I don't bank with them.
@MrSwitch Hi Witchy, any decent deals on a mi9t or a mi9?
Cos of your posts on HUKD, I've convinced a bunch of people to buy those, but currently I can't see a decent deal.
Thanks.
