Don't go there, this 5G variant has been abandoned by Xiaomi and is stuck on Android 9 with no further updates planned, a total disgrace for what was a Xiaomi flagship less than a year ago.

I've sold mine whilst it still had some resale value rather than be stuck with a device that's been made potentially unsecure through lack of patches.

Just saying.

I have the black variant, picked it up for £240 on eBay (new) a while ago. Everything I dreamed it was and more.

Ignore the people moaning about lack of Google updates. They're completely right, it has been forgotten by Xiaomi, but it'll get an update eventually, and it's still on a relatively new OS version.

The bezel less display is futuristic and fantastic, it's way faster than my old Samsung S9, no glitches or issues for me, and works great on Vodafone 5g. Back camera takes amazing photos, front camera takes very good photos, and I barely use the selfie cam anyway. Slider feature is addicting as hell. Charges super fast and lasts for 1.5 days for me on a single charge. I currently have nothing bad to say for this phone.

Despite people's fears as they're a Chinese company (all your phones are made in China even if they're designed elsewhere btw) Xiaomi are actually miles better than most companies on security, scanning all files and apps for viruses with no prompts, and having their own Cloud system and antivirus built in.

The same people talking about security are probably the same people who click accept on internet Cookies or use a free VPN without thinking. If you want your data to be 100% TRULY safe, don't have a phone. If you want to get that pedantic.

I have got one, and it is a superb phone for the price - well worth it for say a 12-24 month phone. Has about 90% of the specs of the top phones for 1/3 of the price

This is still a fantastic phone. The pop up slider camera at the front is awesome.
Will this work with Vodafone 5G?

It is a great spec'd phone and I really liked mine but with no further updates, in terms of security you've got to ask yourself "Are you feeling lucky punk?"
Awesome spec but just didn't translate into a decent handset for me. Just reset mine and hoping the potential buys don't follow @MrSwitch deals or I'm screwed.

This is what's putting me off Xiaomi, i really want the Mi 10 Pro but if they aren't bothering to support their products i don't really want to give them any money.
They just seem to want to flood the market with phones, there's basically 5 versions of the K30 out at the moment with another coming out tomorrow with the Poco name.

They'll update the mi 10 pro.

They just neglect special editions like this 5g version. The original mi mix 3 (4g) currently has miui 12 beta.
Where is proper 5G on Three network?

Would be a wasted purchase if for that .

Could be used as a 5G router/hotspottting for those that actuallly have good and consistent 5G signal. Not when one is moving about.
Anyone seen mi 9 on decent sale?

I know mate robbery,any £1 deals coming?
I've had this. Fantastic spec for the price and beautiful screen. Unique look and feel, too. Voted hot, but I returned mine for a few reasons:
- software is poor compared to Pixel or Huawei, and no sign of Android update.
- I couldn't get great pictures from either camera, even after installing GCam. My Pixel 1 and Huawei P30 both had better cameras.
- it's a heavy and chunky phone. Some people will like this, but it's not to my taste - made it hard to use one handed.

For all that, if you need 5G (I didn't) I'd imagine you'll struggle to find anything to compete at the price.

This is the kind of thing that is sometimes forgotten about when looking at buying a phone. Most companies have been guilty of this at one point or another.

I had a £600 HTC phone two years ago that didn't get any updates six months after release and that particular update decimated the battery.

I gave my Pocofone F1 to my mum, but that got a ton of updates from Xiaomi. It seems like a lottery sometimes.

... What? Lol

Do you mean if your mi 9 will depreciate. Well if you have something in mind yes sell asap.
There are plenty of rom's you can unofficially install, i have the original mix3 (non 5g) and use the xiaomi.eu rom. Im sure the lastest miui 12 will get ported to.

There really isn't lol you can't use Perseus (mi mix 3) ROMs on andromeda (mix 3 5g) as we have a 855 over the SD 845 in the regular mix 3

There are custom ROMs for andromeda but you need to know the right people and they aren't perfect

Nope! 100% on the 9s now.
Android updates have become less of an issue, as a lot of the important bits have moved out to play services.

My mi8 is still getting updates and Xiaomi generally have a record of supporting devices for longer than many manufacturers.
