Is there a reason why people are allot more interested in 5g phones. To be honest 4g is fast enough. For me if I have to py extra for the phone and then tariff I wouldn't go for 5g.

No, this is the 4g slower (in all sense) version.
You can buy the 5g version brand new for £300 on ebay right now, already been posted by someone else.

It's worth mentioning that Xiaomi UK will sell 5G version of this phone for £299 on Monday and Wednesday if I remember correctly thru their app.

Simple. Add it to your basket, make an account, buy the card, wait a while and open your email to find your gift card details.
I have spent over £200 with this company so far, with no issues. They are not fast. It might take a couple of hours for the mail to come through, and despite money having been taken from your credit card, it will still show "waiting for payment" (or similar).
Wow that's what I call a deal 🔥💥🔥

Daft question, but can you get a case for this that allows the sliding function to work?
I usually buy a soft silicon case.

There's currently no reason you'd need that sort of speed, except maybe for Stadia / Xcloud and a very generous amount of data on your contract.
Beast of a phone closely matched only by the OnePlus 6T which on paper would walk all over the Xiaomi but for screen size, quality of slider and all screen display the Xiaomi won it for me. However if battery is key although this charges horrendously fast the OnePlus 6T will beat it for bigger battery and OnePlus dash charge. Top 2 1080p screen phones Mix 3 or OnePlus 6t with the extra Ram and inferior battery size.

Yes. I have this phone. The bottom of the cases are a different shape to allow the front to slide down.
