It's no secret that I really want this phone... but I just got a Mi A2 Lite, and love the Android One experience. I also want the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Pro (damn that 8gb RAM), and can't decide what's more point to me

Great price from a UK seller for this.

Good price mate, though I think it'll go down, not by much but at least down to £450 again. Heat added

That's what I'm hoping and waiting for, or better. I know this isn't the cheapest but it's still a decent saving on current prices.

I'm going to give it another month. See if there's an iPhone SE 2 and what the Mi 9 is like...

Good find and not a bad price... But I'm just boxing this back up to go back to ebuyer.

Hardware and feel - it's a beauty. If you're used to larger phones you'll love it, and the slide is very cool and feels good! So why am I sending it back?
For me, it's too large, damn heavy and the software sucks. If you ever use your phone one handed, in bed, on the loo, anywhere that's not necessarily with both hands it becomes tedious. The beauty and premium feel of the thing only lasts so long.
The software sucks because of the bloatware (which I hid using Evie launcher), the look/style of it (again, fixed with Evie launcher), the built in 'Mi account' hassle it gives you, but most importantly the handling of permissions and notifications are absolutely screwed. The notifications for MANY apps aren't handled correctly and don't reach the lock screen, let alone the always on display. It's a majorly popular MIUI10 problem at the moment for many devices and there are a few 'workarounds' that SORT of work/help...but coming from a Pixel 2 these things were just driving me insane. Maybe if i was early 20s again i'd keep it and root/TWRP/custom rom it etc but I honestly can't be bothered. It's a major shame tbh as the device is beautiful and I think i'd have kept it if the software problems weren't there!

Maybe i've been spoilt with my pixel 2, but i'm going back to it and i'm pretty happy to do so! Maybe i'll stick to Pixel or at least Android one devices.

For you, OP, if you're enjoying Android One on your A2, DON'T change it for MIUI, or anything else. There's no comparison

Thanks for the feedback. I'm sticking with my A2 Lite. I'm still tempted for this or Mi 8, Mi 9, OnePlus 6T, or a Pixel, or an iPhone SE 2 if that ever comes out.

I love my A2L, just wish it had a better camera and maybe USB C or wireless charging.
