To be fair the poster does have a point, if I don't care about something I tend to avoid it whereas some, bizarrely, feel the need to not avoid it AND then go on to tell people they don't care. No idea what the motivation is but I'm not a psychiatrist.

Is there much of a step up (excluding the 5g) from the mi mix 2s, ? The 2s has wireless charging and £90 cheaper

Yeah I know that's on paper, but things are different in real world, just wondered if anyone has used both

There is hardly any 5G coverage in most of UK. But for those, who have and dont want to spend a fortune on a 5G router (eg Voda wants £375 for it plus contract costs/bondage for many months), this could well be a cheaper substitute as a router/modem via hotspotting.

After all, 5G is only another set of chip in the phone and need not cost more than a normal phone.

One can wait for cheap chinese ones with 5G chips to flood the market AND then use it as a home BB replacement router !
That's what I'm thinking the only difference I can see is slight faster CPU sd855/845 but not much, different screen amoled/ips but same ppi , better selfie cam, slightly bigger battery but the 2s has wireless charging.
Whaaat... This price is nuts!
Anyone find a cheap case for this? Can't stand fingerprints.

So just better /more efficient processor, better battery, better screen, better battery life and 5G then (which if you don't use it now, still helps in future proofing the phone). Sounds plenty to me.

Meanwhile, wireless charging at a measly 7.5 Watts is occasionally a useless gimmick

Your choice though. .

can't remember the last time I've had a phone without a case!

Will have limited number of devices you can hotspot to it so wouldn't be great as replacement home router

Limited 5g for now sure, but you'd expect the phone to last long enough that it'll be better

I picked up a Mi Mix 3 magnetic ring case for it off Ebay for £4 but it comes with a case in the box anyway.

On the mi 9t pro, you can have unlimited amount of devices you can connect to the hotspot or so it says. Being very similar phones, it maybe the same for this mi mix? Maybe someone who has it knows more?
Is everyone cancelling / returning the laptops direct one and getting this instead? I thought it was laptops direct eBay store. So I thought they would price match. But it seems to be another company.
I'm torn on this, either this, redmi note 8 pro or Mi 9t pro.

At the moment best bang for buck is probably this phone

I just got the mi mix 2s from the other deal on here.
I would argue that at £170 that phone is the best bang for buck.
My mi9t 6/128 cost me about £247 and is better bang for buck than this mi mix 3s in my opinion.

That said, this is an incredible price for the mi mix 3s.

Where did you get the mi 9t from at that price?

The Mi Mix 2s deal is only for 64gb, I need 128 as Mi Mix 2s doesn't have expandable storage

I'd be surprised if it isn't a decent step up even if you just look at the specs on paper. Almost a half inch bigger screen, no awkwardly placed selfie cam, better SOC, better GPU, slider mechanism, 5G, Super AMOLED screen (so you can be always on), aptX HD bluetooth, bigger battery, Antutu of 372000 vs 341000. etc Quite a big difference in spec. Only negative I can see vs Mi Mix 2S is lack of wireless charging.

39807252-DuctV.jpgThat's an image from the settings for hotspot. I know the more devices connected will obviously be detrimental to speed and what not.

The Mi Mix 2S needs the wireless charging, according to GSMArena's battery life test - just 59 hours. No actual mark for the Mi Mix 3 5G but the Mi Mix 3 with same screen but smaller battery scores 84 hours!

Was just weighing up the price difference as it's£90 cheaper weather the extra cost is worth it or get the 2s then get another phone in year or 2
My Google Pixel 1 died Is this the best option in the price range? I liked the Pixel OS and camera, and don't need 5g, but this seems a lot of phone for the price. Also tempted to look for a used Pixel 3 though...

I ordered a 2s which is on its way. then i saw this deal. very tempting. I think the only things puts me off mix 3 might be the sliding camera, the mechanism look a bit flimsy.
