oh please im in my 40s and this blah blah has been running since i was 2.ive had samsung through the range never had a single problem.if i had to be slightly critical battery degradation would be my only gripe.this note fiasco cost samsung billions and thyve learnt from it bigstyle.its also affected there proportion of the smartphone market.i have no hesitation in saying that without the note fiasco they would probably have at least 50% of the phone market covered.because of this there sitting at about 20% but still top of the tree

You've never had a problem with Samsung, therefore that must be inconclusive proof that they're superior and that Chinese brands which you appear to have never owned must be junk? Odd that personal experience with Samsung is used in favour of your 'opinion' but apparent lack of personal experience with Chinese brands can be disregarded since you seem to already know they're junk and say things like:

these chinese phones will never get heat from me.get a grip people buy … these chinese phones will never get heat from me.get a grip people buy from a uk supplier with full warranty and not put together in a rice field with inferior parts.

You trashed Mi Max on this thread and ignore the fact that many Hukd users who have commented after purchasing one has positive things to say about the phone, but you and your 'opinion' despite never having used one must hold more value than personal experience from people who have.

Why do you speak of free speech as soon as someone appears to oppose your views? First you give your 'opinion', then someone replies and then you go into full defense and speak of free speech and opinion entitlement. Strange because the tone of the comments I've seen from you are far more imposing than anyone else who replies to you. You say "chinese junk" and tell people to "get a grip" but defend it as merely voicing your opinion. Then why get defensive when someone counters your 'opinion' with their own?

Paul Simon released that album exclusively on the Samsung label - it's just a shame no one ever heard it as all the albums self destructed on the way to the shops.

Mi Note 2
by Xiaomi
Once you get to know the device inside and out, you’ll soon realize that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 offers an experience that is quite compelling in both hardware and software, and instead of just being a clone, is instead a worthy alternative to the Galaxy Note 7.

I just learnt that there could be a difference between a Xiaomi Note 2 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 if it exists as I hadnt doublechecked the latter.
BTW what you all wrote to defend the OP made me think.
I guess when ridicule and scorned and being talked down at should be automatically filtered out so it doesnt require the effort for a reply.

Dreadzone101, your reply .... Amazing. Along with all the deals, it's comments like yours that keeps me checking into hud several times a day.

He don't know what he is talking about, this device was built with the US and Europe in mind has 40 bands including band 20

sam_of_london

The phone has band 20 dude it was Xiaomi bench tester for official expansion into the US and Europe.

Regardless of the brand, I think this is a lot of money for a grey import with some specs that aren't great - the camera lacks OIS and seems to produce average results, there's no expandable storage and the 1080p screen limits the VR features. That's fine on some of their cheaper devices which seem great value for money but less so with a more expensive device particularly it being an import with no official UK support.

How do you know what a reputable brand is unless you try all brands involved? If you've not tried Xiaomi, you can't say they aren't reputable as an opinion as you have no evidence to influence that opinion.

Just saying, if I haven't heard of for example Jeremy Kyle I can say Jeremy Kyle isn't reputable. I'd be wrong, but I can say it. The trick is then educating yourself on the opposing opinion rather than remaining ignorant.

On topic though, iirc MIUI is similar to iOS in theme. I'd want to get closer to stock Android, is that possible?

You can install your own launcher, you just install an app from the Play store, set it at the default launcher and away you go - you don't need root access to do that. I use Nova launcher on my Samsung as I like the customisation, the default launcher is 4x4 icons which is far too big for the screen but with Nova launcher I can set it to 6x6, customise the app drawer, desktop transitions when going between home screens, I can backup/restore home screen configurations and also install the same launcher and setup on different models of phones.

Need to be careful on this one, if Band 20 is important (i.e. for O2 or Vodafone users), then need to go for the 'Global Version.' This is minimum 6 GB/128 GB and price starts at £432.29.

Hmm, but that won't cover things like the settings menu or the notification bar? It also won't cover any deeper modifications which was the reason I stopped using Samsung phones (Galaxy S 1, Note 1), they'd made changes that broke... something. DPI scaling maybe? I can't remember, too long ago, got the impression that samsung can't code to save their lives though.

True although it does mostly change the look and feel of the phone. All the main Samsung software gets broken by DPI scaling (launcher, camera app, dialer etc) so needs replaced but core stuff all works fine.
