This is the international version so no Band 20, however I have this exact same phone and haven't noticed any issues on the Three or EE networks locally. This is the cheapest I've seen it delivered from an EU warehouse (no import fees). Buy through Paypal for extra protection.

Great phone and a very capable processor. Love it!
Link takes you to the Hong Kong warehouse. How do you get to the EU warehouse option?
Coming up with £194.20, reeeeeesult!
OS is 6.0 or there is an update?
Buy it in CNY and it's only £183. That's incredible value, especially considering there's definitely no VAT to pay.

States - Hong Kong warehouse
When I click on it the 128GB version the price remains the same :-)
I'd recommend flashing the stock firmware when you get it which ensures you get all the latest OTA updates regularly. I have the redmi note 4 and it's a great phone

Is it difficult to flash a Rom with no prior experience?
The G-W-5 warehouse is located in Czech Republic.
Hmmm, good price but description in basket says-

Size:HK WAREHOUSE 4GB RAM 64GB ROM
Color:PHOTO BLACK

But shows 3-5 DHL shipping as the only option.

Confusing!

This is the one that I purchased and it was shipped from Germany. I think that HK Warehouse is just how it's been listed on their inventory

I got the Android 7.0 update yesterday and I believe they are in a beta testing for the Oreo update
Wow, I paid £225 for this just three weeks ago! I should have waited. I have my eye on the Redmi Note 5 China now as the camera is sposed to be ace. I might have to wait a bit though.

Band 20 is only for O2 (or O2-service using networks). Every other operator in the UK has an additional band for 4G

Any downsides to this phone as about to buy?

The only downside I would say is that there are better cameras but it is by no means a poor quality one, just doesn't really compete with today's flagships
Cheers for that. Bought.

This or the newer/cheaper MI A1?
I like the curves on note 2 and the better screen? Not sure if it justifies paying nearly 50£ extra though

The problems I've had with Band 20 have been whenever I go abroad. I had trouble getting receptions in Berlin, Paris and other French places without it. I think if you travel in Europe then Band 20 is almost a necessity. (but that's just an opinion, not a fact )
Hoping that my trip to Spain is a bit easier, now I've moved to a Xiaomi Mi A1 which has Band 20.

This looks a good price if you don't travel abroad.
is this 2016 released version?

ROM stands for Read Only Memory, this phone might have 64gb storage but it not ROM.

It won't have anything to do with flashing, I won't buy anything from a site what can't even get the specs right.
Can this b

Cam a three sim card be used with this phone on 4g thanks
"2. Note: This smart phone is designed only to work with the current Android/Windows OS installed in it. Any alterations such as upgrades or flashing a newer version will void the warranty."

Umm... not that I had any faith in gearbest's warranty anyway but what??

6G/128G is only £237 gearbest.com/cel…=91 but the global versions are all out of stock so no band 20. Still debating whether I should get this!

You are, of course correct, but the phone storage is (incorrectly) referred to as rom, as is the downloadable and flashable firmware.

It's not hard, but there's more than one way to do it and the best method is the hardest. Check online and on YouTube because there are plenty of tutorials. I think there is an official one on the MIUI download page.

Can you give a rundown of what ROMs there are? I know there's a global one on 6.0, a Chinese one on 7.0 and a global one is WIP for oreo. Which ROM are you suggesting to flash and which ones get OTA?

I got the global stable update to miui 9.5 which is Android 7.0 based yesterday. You can update this phone to that rom via an over the air update

Or one 'what' can't get English right
At this price I would say spend a bit more and get the latest and greatest from Xiaomi but then again it’s still a good price for a flagships.
Can Xiaomi phones use "hotspot" for tethering? If not can they use a third party app to achieve the same result such as FoxFi or any of the other popular ones?

There are China, global and developer roms. I only use global stable roms. I believe that the Mi Note 2 is due to be updated to Miui 9.5 soon, which is based on Android 7. Oreo, I'm not sure about but if there are updates, it will get them ota.

Just realised dbertman answered it for me.

Voted cold as not 5G
As someone who has this phone.....

My main issue would be the curved edges of the screen. It means you end up constantly having to reposition your hands so as to avoid not touching the edge of the screen.

The OLED screen isnt amazing either. The colours are dreadful on lower brightness settings, it has to be made brighter than you usually want just for the colours to make any sense.

No microsd is a bit of a bummer. Do not be an idiot like me and think this phone will have one because you see its got dual sim slots.

It doesnt feel all that great in your hand. The back is glass, so theres nothing to grip to. Ive never actually dropped it but still got a small crack on the back of the phone, no idea how it even happened.

The headphone jack ive started to have problems with. Even just sitting down and remaining still the jack comes out of the socket enough for the phone to think its disconnected.

Pros: It is pretty quick, theres a decent CPU in there. The battery is very good. miui is reasonable.

Overall, Ive been disappointed with this phone. I previously had a moto x force which I thought was *fantastic*. Its basically been a significant downgrade for me.
