Be prepared to lose your money if things go wrong with it, expect ZERO warranty from these jokers.
It was cheaper before hotukdeals.com/dea…541

I was tempted by this before but passed on it, mainly because of the Mediatek processor which means there will be little in the way of custom ROM development. It may also not be possible to unlock the bootloader and root it as Xiaomi's procedure for granting permission for this is flakey to say the least. It runs MIUI which is a heavily tweaked version of Android. Many people like the interface but there are concerns about bundled spyware thehackernews.com/201…tml

As others have pointed out, you will have no comeback if the device develops a fault & there is also a risk of being hit with VAT & customs charges, particularly if you choose express delivery.

Even though its getting on a bit, a safer bet may be the Galaxy Tab S2 from CeX. (At least you have some sort of warranty.) I picked up mine for £190 and its on Android 7 and has a fingerprint scanner. As its getting on a bit now, there are custom roms available. Battery life isn't great but that's the price you pay for the lightest 8" tablet.

I would suggest the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 instead. Although it's a bit older it has a higher spec than the Tab S2. LineageOS 14.1 runs very well.

I see where your coming from OP. If you want a 16:9 screen the Tab S 8.4 is a good bet. Is this the SD800/2GB ram tablet?

SM-T700 3gb ram version

Nice. That extra gig of ram will make all the difference. Would you recommend the 2GB version though? (I probably wouldn't.)
No, go for the 3gb

Out of interest guy's, I've heard a few proposal of LineageOS in the past before too. :-)

But as yet, I have absolutely no clue as to what that is?, other then (I'm assuming?), it's a variant of Android?, or ...

Can you explain any of that for me?, and/or if there's some kind of link/idiot's guide of this somewhere or something too etc?, then that would be very much appreciated also, thanx. :-)

Its a version of Android that is stripped down and is almost stock with a few tweaks. Its used to be called Cyanogenmod. Google is your best friend. For many old devices which the manufacturer no longer supports, it provides an updated OS.
