Description:

Xiaomi's smart home ecosystem has a new addition today! The Mi Robot Vacuum is a highly intelligent home cleaning device with 12 different sensors. The Laser Distance Sensor ( LDS ) scans its surroundings 360 degree, 1800 times per second, to map out the interiors of your house. The three processors track its movements in real-time, and the Simultaneous Localization and Mapping ( SLAM ) algorithmcalculates the most efficient route for cleaning. Using the Mi Home app, you can switch on and remotely control the robot, change cleaning modes and set schedules, Additionally, a powerful Nidec brushless DC motor, a main brush with adjustable height and a 5200mAh Li-ion battery for up to 2.5 hours of cleaning, attractive in price and quality, all these make it stand out of the market. Get the Mi Robot Vacuum and dirt will not stand a chance!

can it go over door frames

If you throw it hard enough

I heard these report back to China what dirt is in your home. Might need tin foil hats when using.

Now if only they did a version that looked like a shark; we have been waiting for laser equiped sharks for ages!!!

Anyone know how good is this? I have tried another so-called EU brand, but had to return after 4 months.

Wow. That’s a really good deal!

The reviews are really good. Also, from a tech point of you it’s really impressive - uses the same laser mapping system as £1000 Dyson robot.

I’ve never had to pay anything extra when ordering from gearbest and I did buy some large items.

It's awesome. But my experience with Geekbuying is not.
Anyone else can share their experience about Geekbuying?

Do any of these robot vacuums empty themselves?

The Xiaomi uses a Laser Distance Sensor, the Dyson uses a 360 degree camera; the SLAM algorithms will therefore be different (no judgement on if either is better, just that they different).

Can anyone confirm the situation with delivery charges?

Sorry, my bad. I watched the introduction videos and it looked like the same system.

Use discount code OKYXFUKD to bring the price down to $234.99

Although the shipping does display as $102.46 when checking out with no other options available...ouch!

Yes, it is charging for shipping.

I just spent a good 15 minutes contemplating buying it and then when I finally decided to pull the trigger it says the extortionate shipping cost in the last window. Shame, was looking forward to buying it!

I bought this for £210 from gearbest a few weeks ago. It was delivered in 3 days, which I thought was strange since I chose standard shipping. So far it has been excellent. Workings on laminate, tiles and carpet. It also goes under beds, TV stands etc.

Can I program it to stay away from my partridge drawer?

Cold. All robots deserve have a face. This is just plain cruel.

I'm guessing you live in China :P I'm anxious because I've been waiting 2 weeks with no tracking data, but that's probably only half the time I should allow for a package from China.

Got one of these on order, already picked up googly eyes and picked out a name, Noo-Noo from the Teletubbies.

What was the postage?

What the warranty like with this? I'm worried if it stops working and I can't send it back for replacement or repair.

Given up using iRoombas last year, had 4 in the house all modded with dustproof bearings etc etc at GREAT cost BTW
Realistically I don’t think anyone makes a reliable low maintenance robot hoover, the batteries are crap they are high maintenance and all end up overheating due to dust build up run times over an hour are pointless cos the parts overheat they totally need a rethink!

Check this out, one of the myriad of videos...
Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum - Review and Comparsion with iRobot Roomba 980

Reviewer was impressed, but user manual and app exclusively in Chinese. He had to use Google Translate to get around this. Also, when setting up a schedule, you have to use a China Timezone so make sure you don't set it off at 4am and hoover the sleeping dog. Seems decent otherwise.

The app and robot are in English as of about June 2017. Solves the biggest problem I had with it.

£79.77 shipping for me, making it just shy of £275 in total. Oh well, was about to go for it when I saw the thread title.

Seems to be no postage fee when using mobile. Haven't tried PC yet.

Just tried and I still get 79.77 on mobile, are you going right through to the confirmation page as it does initially appear there's no shipping but it adds it on the next section?
Edited by: "razorwire" 14th Oct

FYI There is $100 delivery charge to add on top of the value in the description.

Agreed, shipping is not free - you have to go right through checkout and it then adds £79.77 to the order.
