What a silly thing to say,I am in the UK so how could I work for Xiaomi or Gearbest. I like my tech and with Xiaomi you can get great stuff without paying the silly prices that Samsung or Apple want

Unsurprisingly, a phone called the Mi5c is a different phone to this one, the Mi5.

Are all UK carriers supported?

Also reading the Trusted reviews site, why do they say the OS is more like iOS than Android??
I have the Mi4 and it's a great phone....only down point is mine was an import which had 4g functionality but not in the UK
I have the mi5s from gearbest.com and has to go through the process of requesting permission from xiaomi to install the official rom (which was simple enough and took a couple of days). Rom when received was not official and Amazon prime adverts (etc) popped up every now n again (Full screen) with the provided rom. So I advise to check the version when you get it before using.

The only iOS similarity is that there is no app drawer. Basically in iOS all your apps/folders are on your 'home' screens where as in Android you'd usually choose apps to appear on your home screens but also have a button to see 'all apps'. Difficult to explain but it's not anything to worry about.

This is Android though right? What's stopping me installing a launcher app like Nova?

Plus android allows you to customise the look and feel a lot. Using a launcher like nova you can add an app drawer back I should think.

My S6 just broke - you think I would miss anything if I upgrade to this phone?

MIUI is based on Android but it has a feel of iOS (Source: tried MIUI on my Redmi Note 3 Pro)

Oh and check this website to see if your carrier is support and for all the bands etc. willmyphonework.net

The only thing you would miss is Samsung bloatware. Xiaomi phones are brilliant
No B20 UK 4G band, so poor reception in UK . Add customs and delivery from China to price . No XIAOMI warranty as grey import. BIG NEGATIVE

My wife has a Galaxy S6 and I have this phone. I'd take this every time.
I've bought two tablets from Gearbest, neither have attracted customs. Both had been imported into Europe then repackaged. Just avoid the DHL option.
Been using this for about two months now after previously having a Nexus 5. The amount of phone you get for this money is immense, and would be at least double the price to get a similar experience from one of the big names.

I do miss the stock Android features a little bit, but changing a few default apps to the Google equivalent and installing the Google Now launcher on there and it's basically all good to go.

Also, 64GB of internal storage!
Commenting this on mi5 and Xiaomi ftw!
good price, not sure if it would be worth upgrading from a p9 lite though, also the one plus 5 announcement in 3 days probably will be 400+

Good luck with a name like Xiaomi. Why don't you just get a Samsung?
Bought one of these three last time they were on here, very nice phone. I will second that you need to buy a case, will fall off any surface if it is not level.

Screen is only 1080p compared to some of the other flagships but in reality it looks just as nice.

All of above. Use standard free shipping to more than likely avoid import duties and tax. If only xiaomi would start doing global b20 band versions of there mi series.

You have to list it or you're breaking HUKD rules.
Been using this for almost 6 months now. Really fast, great screen, good battery life, well built, camera a big upgrade over xiaomi Redmi note 2 I used before. No band 20 so if you use mobile Internet a lot bear in mind that in a lot of cases you would get 3G speeds instead of 4G.

If slightly better battery or slightly bigger screen are your priority than Redmi note. Otherwise this one. Great phone.

I have the rednote great phone. I wouldn't get this if as reported above it has no 4g

Says the man with an Letv phone! He's correct about the Xiaomi warranty as warranty is provided by the retailer which often proves to be so expensive as to be worthless (it's a risk I'm prepared to accept considering the ridiculous cost of the alternatives).
Band 20 important to some though mostly fine outside of London unless you are on O2.

I'll give it a go! Now to wait 40 days...

Seems to be a bit cheaper when you use the clarity card too.

Recently bought the mi5s from gearbest. Took 8 working days using free delivery method. Bought quite a bit from them and nothings ever taken more than a couple weeks worst case.
