What's the score with your double standards?

When anyone posts a decent TV, you suggest they save money and buy a Polaroid (which you have been silly enough to buy), but when a cheap phone is posted, you tell everyone to buy a premium model.

Can we deduce from this that you put your entire life savings into an iPhone, so now have to buy the cheapo version of everything else??

The joke is wearing thin anyway, I have only wasted my time posting this to show everyone what a loser you are.

I just used google

Bought same phone from banggood and over the moon with it. Purchased last month for 198 with 12 pending cashback. Great price for a fantastic phone.

I've had my MI5 for 4 months now and can honestly say it is the best phone I've had considering what I paid for it compared to previous Samsung and Apple phones. The build quality is impressive and so far I've had no issues with performance. I'm on EE and had no problems with 4G. The battery is amazing and the quick charge 3.0 will charge it from 0-100% in a little over an hour.

Top post what bitbotbang fails to realise is there will be a noticeable difference between a Polaroid TV and Samsung

What a ridiculous post. You do realise that many of the parts in the phone are 'branded' and just put together by Xiaomi ? For example your getting a Snapdragon processor, jdi screen, Sony camera sensor, adreno GPU.
Stick with your over prices Samsung's and iPhones

Apart from the slight upgrade on the SOC and slight downgrade on the OIS what other differences are there between the mi5 and mi5s? I do note the mi5 can be had for approx 20 quid cheaper.

A little bit disappointed now that I just bought a mi4 for £178...

3 times the price

Bitbotbang deleted his comments about Polaroid being a better option than other branded TVs .

Embarrassing hypocrisy at its finest.

Coming to the deal, I'm a little gutted as I ordered the Mi5 a few days ago for a little cheaper.

Hopefully there isn't much of a difference between SD 821 and SD 820.

Anyone know how long it usually takes to arrive?

They usually come with a European charger and a UK adapter. But you can use any charger with the cable out of the box. I use the charger from a nook ebook reader.

Lamer here... no idea what that o.s. is ? Nougat not available on this one then ?

I'd buy a cheap QuickCharge 3.0 charger from Aukey, Anker etc from Amazon. A slow charger would be such a waste when this phone will probably reach 70% from 0% in a little over 30 minutes.

Miui is the Xiaomi developed user interface (ui bit) that sits on top of the android software. Xiaomi are still on marshmallow but the nougat version is imminent. I like the Miui software, a lot of useful features and it's all pretty slick. A few years ago I used to install custom roms on my phones to unlock features and to improve speed and functionality - but since then most of the manufacturers now have a much better understanding of user requirements. The Miui software is updated quite regularly with improvements or new features. There's a very active user forum for requesting new features and for user feedback.

Some folk prefer the standard android software, but I really think the Miui is pretty close to perfect - I've yet to find anything it can't do.

That is if you don't care about mobile reception. Even with EE ,I would not risk bad reception. None of the UK networks sells phones without B20 band . It is just some people here who don't care about reception keep on posting phones not meant to work in UK . If you ask Xiaomi they never made the phone to work in UK.

I'm not too fussed about quick charge etc, I just charge it over night. if it takes 6 hours, it takes 6 hours. I'm not really bothered.

Hey, Sam. I have a Xiaomi phone with no band 20. It has a 3 SIM in it. I work on the edge of a small town in the north of England and regularly get 70 meg speed. Best I got was 90 meg. I live in a small village a few miles from the small town, and usually get 50 meg. If that's what I get with no band 20, then I think I can live with it. London has among the worst 4G in the country, maybe you just need to move. Pint?

I live in rural Scotland and use BT mobile, I get between 50 and 60 meg download speeds and have never had any reception problems, even when visiting London.

For all the Xiaomi phone deals on here the only person complaining about band 20 reception problems seems to be you?

I have a phone without band 20 and a left hand drive car, will I be deported under the brexit rules?

what is your actual issue, it states no band 20, people will by now know what that means and if not they can Google it, just get back in your box or actually post a comment that's useful!

Had my Mi5s for about two months now. Overall I'm really happy with it. Really snappy performance, good camera. 3 4g is good or great reception in most places I've been round the country. That includes several major cities, several rural counties and even the Scilly Isles. Build quality is exceptional, looks as good as most the iPhone, really impressive. Not that I care as it's always in a case.

It's my first experience of Miui, mixed bag really, I'd probably prefer stock Android but can't be bothered to sort out so it can't be too bad. It has some useful features like second space where you can add apps on different accounts. Also if you want it will help manage the memory quite well or advise you to clear caches. I'm sure you can turn them off if you want which I would normally do, I've kept them on though as it actually works quite well. Note, mine has the global Miui 8.0.3.0 software version and Google Pay will not work with it. It says something about them not having verified the software. I'm sure you can get round this if you really want but it won't work straight out of the box.

I bought from Gearbest and had no problems. I think it took about a week and a half to arrive.

Oh and battery life is great, with medium use for me I can get 15/16 hours a day off charge and still have 10/20%. Also charges really quick with the right charger, I haven't used the one they gave me as I've got some Anker ones I prefer with quick charge. I haven't used my USB battery packs since I bought it.

Overall the best phone I've owed since my Galaxy Note 2 (before Samsung screwed up the software).

Nobody is saying that . If you understand the risks it may be fine for you to experiment . People have lived without 4G signal . But this is a big compromise and I don't think its worth it unless you use WiFi most of the time and don't care about data download speeds or Voice over LTE etc or emergency situations where good phone signal is needed.

It's difficult to ignore, I think he is trying to help though is incapable of comprehending that the rest of us receive 4G data at incredible speeds without B20 and have no need for Volte.
I could be wrong, it happens.
