Our dumb cleaner wouldn't have done one in that time.

I dont like to see my Eufy referred to as dumb, be more careful with your use of words please.
Don't buy from these charlatans unless you don't care about the possibility of something going wrong, they have the worst customer service ever, I've had an open issue from September last year so it's up to you if you want to shell out the money and take the chance, you'd be better buying on AliExpress

Is it a vacuum cleaner?
logges20/01/2020 20:39

Yes a Robot vacuum

Ah, now added it to the title. Thought it was some kind of modern Bigtrak.

Yeah got mine recently. such a brilliant piece of kit once you have it all up and running
If you have a problem with it does it need to go back to China?

Any advice would be appreciated

i had that exact question as well. and Great member kindly directed me to the below links
VS the Xiaomi Vacuum "original": smartrobotreviews.com/reviews/xiaomi-mi-robot-vs-mijia-1s-comparison.html
VS Roborock S5/S50: smartrobotreviews.com/reviews/roborock-t6-vs-xiaomi-1s-comparison-chart.html

The Mijia 1s has more power than the S5. For me what sealed the deal was the fact that the Mijia 1s support multi maps. the S50 does not. (maybe they will udpate the software but i dont think they will as they added that to the s5 max and its an upsell)
These along with the s5/s50/s55 are easily the best robot vacuums for under £300.

Wish I had got myself a room mapping one. I barely use mine anymore as it just gets stuck doing laps of the coffee table
Doesn’t this then get subjected to 20% importnduty?

Nah not with the priority line shipping (well a very tiny chance)

I've had two Roborocks, about 8 Yeelights and various smaller goods without issue.

Bought it on aliexpress at black Friday for 227£. And absolutely love this little buddy! It's really smart and powerful device, map building is very accurate,
Good price, bought for either my son or upstairs in our house, wife will decide.
Does it know when it's battery is low and return to recharge?
And can you program it to work at certain times so its not working through the night??

Yes and yes. It always knows exactly where the dock is and heads straight for it when required or requested, even from 2 or 3 rooms away. And you can't even fool it by mnaually moving it. Assuming it's cleaned and mapped it before, it'll spin around a few times and accurately figure out exactly where it is in the correct room.

And if it hasn't finsihed it'll then get back to work and carry on where it left off once it's had a rest and recharged it's batteries.
If you have watched You Season 2 you know how this plays out...
Looks decent, I bought a vacuum robot when they were first coming out and I must admit it doesn't get used and I think we paid £300. It always struggled to get back to it's dock and it's because the instructions said it needed 5 free metres each side.. Who has that much spare space!?

Will this one be able to get back to the dock with much less room?
Anyone know if this will pick up rabbit poop? Serious question. I’ve got 3 and they are absolute machines at leaving droppings everywhere!
Any good on carpet?

That's a horrible way to talk about the missus!
I have had the original for over 2.5 years (great). Doesn't like deep pile carpet though.
Now looking to buy an equivalent for downstairs that mops too (Roborock I guess).

No that is the older model if you look on the top the Black circle is actually a camera on the new one. It doesn't have the same mapping or software features a few years old now

Yes works well on carpet. we have a mixture of hard floor and carpet as well as mats and it does a really good good job on all of them. if you have a specific carpet area that needs more turbo cleaning you can actually define the area and make sure it does a deeper Max clean on that area
how does this do with going over door strips - i have vinyl in kitchen and carpet in living room
i am hoping it will be able to go over this - the lip/door strip will be about 10mm high - standard threshold trim

I have the same issue with a threshold from hard floor to carpet that is about 10 mm as well and the robot can see the room and it actually starts to wiggle up and over all comes in at a slightly different angle at 45 degrees it's a persistent little thing

Yes it does get up OK. I do a timer clean at midnight and then I do a 9 a.m. clean in the kitchen where the kids sit for breakfast after everyone has left the house absolutely brilliant
