I bit the bullet too early thinking Quidco would go down, and it didn't. This is now down to £216.23 but £192.45 if Quidco tracks at 11% (which mine did at the 6%)

I bought the Xiaomi Robot Vac from Geartbest for £202 in August, it took about a month to get to me which was plenty of time to think about whether or not I'd made a stupid, frivolous purchase. From the moment it arrived I realised I hadn't - the thing is excellent, cleans really well. It might seem like an extravagance but seriously, this is the future of carpet/floor cleaning. I also have a Dreame V9 which is one of Xiaomi's Dysonesque cyclone type cordless vacs - it is also excellent. Between the two I hope to never again have to hump and push an upright hoover round the house.

Are they any good at cleaning carpeted floors? That is the only thing holding me back.
Has anyone successfully ordered it? I chose shopped from Czech to UK and it said this product not available to ship to the selected region.
I have the s50 EU version it’s excellent looks like cheaper in singles sale.

Yep, also a concern I had while waiting for it to arrive as ALL my floors are carpeted (except Kitchen and Sun Lounge) - on all my modern, standard depth carpet the vac is amazing, you'd believe my carpets hadn't been properly cleaned in years by the fluff and dust it picked up the first time round..However, on the ridiculously shaggy 70's carpet I have in one room it occasionally stops by giving a brush error...the brush isn't actually jammed or anything but I think it hits a little too much resistance on very deep carpets.
Despite that I'd still fully recommend picking up a robot vac...I saw one just like mine sell 2nd user on eBay for just over a ton last week and was tempted to buy it just as a backup as I never want to be without this gadget now

I'm an unabashed Xiaomi Fanboi and I'm used to being impressed by their products but my vac is on a whole new level. Mines called "Hans".
Should I wait for black Friday?
Cant seem to get it for the stated price and the voucher code doesn't work..

Not sure I can be much help as I'm on the China mainland server (because I'm using a trio of Dafang Cams and they don't work otherwise) and this is the list of compatible vacuums:

The 1S is definitely listed there...

Mi home has had about half a dozen updates just over the last week - maybe check and make sure you're fully up to date?

Some stuff just isn't supported outside of the China Mainland server....but I would be very surprised if the 1S was one of them.
Good luck.
How well does it do the stairs?

Ah, this make more sense to me, must because you set the china mainland server, I use have some xiaomi camera when I change to china mainland server it's keeping telling me the camera are not support outside China they end up in the bin, I will give a go and change to china mainland server, thanks for you information.

It's only a matter of time before they'll work out how to incorporate stairs cleaning into these things...but for now at least it's smart enough to not fall down them!

Thanks the code worked by showing £216.63
Does this little bot sense when it needs to charge and auto returns? And can it be set to do its thing at set times of day?

Would love some more information on both the Dreame and the Robot Vac Please:

How does the Dreame compare in Dyson Terms? V8? v10? Build Quality? and how does it cope with pet hair please. Same questions for the Robovac!

So I can only give you my impressions of the Mi Robot Vac and the Dreame V9 Pro (identical to V9 except for some silvered plastic cosmetics) - I've never used a Dyson cordless nor any other brand of robot vac but if you look on YouTube you will find plenty of comparative reviews, I was swayed by a Dutch(?) Guy who did a review of the V9p...he said better performance than Dyson at a third of the price. I've spent £362 combined on the Xiaomi robo vac and cordless vac...Isn't that less than you'd pay domestically for a Roomba or a Dyson V11 individually?

Of course, if the Xiaomi stuff develops a fault or something down the line I'm most likely screwed - but right now I couldn't be happier with the decision.

Edit: regarding hair...pet hair no bother, I could have made a new cat out of the fur the robot has pulled out of the carpets ..human hair is bit more problematic and can get wrapped around the runners (same as my old hoover)
Regular maintenance is absolutely essential to keep these things running well but everything is easily accessible and spares are cheap and readily available.

Thank you for the info!
Looks good! Was thinking about getting the previous version, but now keen to get this. I've looked on aliexpress and there seem to be a fair few sellers selling at a good price already - any particular recommendations?
EDIT: Looks like they now have added the ability to add multiple maps. Brilliant. Get one you won't regret it

(Will leave my old post below)
Unless things have changed I don't believe that this can store multiple floor maps at the same time. I was close to buying this but opted for the 360 S5 instead which can.(you can fav maps so they always stay there).

So even though it can save a map (and you can then mark out don't go zones and things) as soon as you put it on another floor it will forget your previous map and build a new one. (Meaning next time you take it to the initial door it has to built the map again)

However either way this will be miles better than the eufy and similar ones that get posted.

Edit, example here of how the map saving feature works on the 360 S5. I can load up a map with previously edited no go zones and it will remember them. I might be wrong but I think this Xiaomi one can o let store 1 map in its memory?

NOTE: either way this looks like a fantastic price. (And if they added muliple maps it's a steal at this price)

Have they added the ability to save multiple maps yet or will it just keep the most recent in memory?
Is it better than s5?
macIII04/11/2019 09:16

Is it better than s5?

It doesn't have any sweeping feature but in some points this device is indeed better.
Am I right in thinking the coupon code will still work on 11/11? Even the new used code will bring it down cheaper that this on that day.

Edit: Quidco have 6.75% cashback right now, which gives you a final price of £203.85 if you don't use the discount code.

Been using it for a few days. It really is a good machine. Picked up loads of dust from the carpets even though they regularly get vacuumed.

Useful for going under furniture, etc!

App is good and it cleans on a pretty efficient path. It also recognised the different room boundaries on its first outing - enabling you to tag the name of them.
