I've been using this for a few months now and it's been great!

It's their newer model replacing the Xiaomi Yi.
It seems much better camera judging from all reviews on youtube.

The Camera starts automatically when it gets power. I've connected that to my USB port on the Pioneer car unit and it's working perf.

When you download Mi Home app, make sure you pick China as location.
On Android you can stop most permissions before you start the app and just leave location and storage.
The firmware on mine is from mid June, and I haven't checked if there's a new one.

####################
THE MENU IS IN CHINESE
####################

It's really easy to use and this video explains the simple menu in detail:

youtu.be/f-C…oIg

Not sure whether they will release an update to include Menu in English.

I'm hoping it would have great support for firmware updates.
So far great support of my Mi band 2 that received more than 5 updates since last year

I installed a Yi last week. Looking at a Yi v Mijia comparison on YouTube, I can't see which gives the best video, but it certainly seems a bargain for £30.

Edit: Mijia video looks more colour saturated than the Yi, but not sure if it captures any greater detail.

Will you get hit by custom order from them?

I've got the Xiaomi zigbee sensors set up as part of home automation. You need to use their app, which connects to China. I use a spare Android tablet, with a spare google id that contains details about me, and only run the app to configure the devices. Would do the same with this, just record to memory.
Paypal come out as £29.66! Cheers!
What can you access on the camera via the WiFi?

All recordings? Settings? Live View?

Looks good for the price.
@steevieboy4u App on the Yi allows all that, and video start/end clipping, and is in English. Hopefully this would be at least the same functionality, albeit in Chinese.

Have you got a link to that please? I've got the yeelights and really impressed with xiaomi. Also got the fitness band. Very happy with xiaomi. Want to get more into home automation. You're right, have a spare Id with which you access their services.
I've been ordering like crazy from their harvest sale and earlier for last 3 weeks or so but still haven't recieved a single item. Whereas an item ordered 2 weeks back from. Banggood.com arrived today... Anyone in the same situation??
I got hit by customs on this last time on Lightinthebox purchase. Was like £37 then customs of £7.21 and royal mail charge £7 handling fee. But very pleased with quality. Pause the video when u moving and you can still see number plates. Very impressed. I'll take my chances and order from here. Just pot luck sometimes

This Mijia camera is on a certain auction site for £24 with free postage, but also the option of a 3 year guarantee for another £8, which I presume is backed by that auction site?

£30.58 @ Banggood.
banggood.com/Ori…tml

Also 6% quidco / TCB with Banggood. Only 3% with Gearbest.

Not really pot luck, depends on if the sellers puts "GIFT UNDER £39 VALUE" on the invoice.

It says maximum microSD card it takes is 64GB. Does anyone know how long it can record before it runs out of space?

It really is time that car makers started building mount points and power sockets into new cars for these.

So, you need to start with version 2 of their hub, and you will need a chinese/au to uk adaptor which they might not send- I had a few lying around from various chinese pvr/mp3/etc.

gearbest.com/liv…tml

The hub must be connected to an app, and through the chinese servers you get firmware updates and also access the sensor logs. Forget about the internet radio, it's only Chinese stations, and the connections stutter. You can set up alarms on the hub, which also has rgb lighting.

Then add the 2nd generation of their sensors which seem to be standard zigbee devices (smart things forum people say they connect, but I just use the xiaomi hub)

gearbest.com/Xia…ar/

I'm preparing to start using Domoticz home automation, and you can set the xiaomi hub into local network mode:

domoticz.com/wik…ra)

The Yeelights also have a developer mode for local access.

domoticz.com/wik…ght

So from Gearbest you can get a lot of door sensors, pirs and lights for a fraction of normal zigbee prices.

Don't EVER pay to anyone via Western Union!!! There's a ZERO chance to get your money back if you won't receive the product.
