Do they connect to smartthing easily?

Just keep pressing the button and use the ‘catch all’ method. Not hard at all, some connect straight away and some take a few mins. I have loads !

do you have other xiaomi devices? I have a few Aqara sensors but for some reason, they randomly just drop off, even after being online for a year solid. Tried removing the device, replacing batteries but nothing works!

What version of hub and app do you have (Hub V2, classic app here)? I did it through 3rd party device handler, but works fine.

i haven't had many issues, to be honest, i think one temp sensor went mysteriously dead...but i mean for the price, its not bad.

I have the v2 but use the new app. Yh the 3rd party handler looks confusing when I watch videos on it

you only need to add the handler once, it contains the functionality for all the other sensors and switches but i can see that it is not the easiest thing to do...

Yeah I’ve got smoke alarms, window sensor and motion snensors. Most work fine. Have had the odd issue with one that wouldn’t work. Think it’s might be dodgy devices, not sure

I have hub v2. Had problems with v3 app. I did use classic app but now started using the new app. Seem to connect better with the classic but once they are connected use the new app
How are these different to the Xiaomi Aqara square ones which I have 2 of working with ST?

I might revisit the new app again. Don't remember why i didn't like it originally but i think my Yeelights could be added easily to the new smartthings app (painful with classic app)

Ahh, thanks. Rather confusing with the multiple names etc. Was hoping that these were more reliable as the ZigBee protocol on the aqaras is bonkers and often drops off of ST

I have some hue bulbs around the house and as far as I understand since they are wired, they act as zigbee repeater improving the overall mesh quality? I also connect everything I can to the wifi through 5GHz, helps the load on the 2.4GHz frequency in and around the house...

I have a house full of hue, unfortunately they don't act as repeaters. You can also check what your devices hop through via the IDE.
So they detect whether you've left a door/window open?

I have the same issue with my Aqara devices. I have a house full of Hue lights too and my Aqara devices just drop off randomly. One has been solid for a good 3 years though but the rest are just flakey.
These are the first generation ones aren’t they? Would it not be better to go for the Aqara ones which were released more recently

I have multiple Xiaomi devices. The only one to ever drop off was one of those wireless light switches. Other than that the contact sensors, motion sensors and temperature sensors have all been pretty solid

Click on Devices and then that specific Device and there will be a row for "Route".
E.g. This Device (####) ↔ Fairy Lights (####) ↔ Deck Lights (####) ↔ SmartThings Hub

I found that the Ikea Zigbee sockets work well as Zigbee repeaters.

yes but for me the main advantage is that you can create events or chain of events triggered by these detections...
Is this an unusually low price on these?

no, not a crazy discount but decent price for someone who is looking now

out of curiosity, how do you know they dropped out? Are you logging them? Is there a disconnect notification/alarm available? or they just stop working and you only find out when there is a problem and you investigate?
Thanks for your help

They just stop working. With the push buttons, whatever action I have triggered by the push, stops working. I can manually "push" the button by viewing the device in the app, and the selected action works however physically pressing the button does nothing. Obviously with the temp sensor, they have no buttons so the only way to find out they have stopped working is by checking temperature and last update times. Removing and readding devices and changing batteries only provides a temporary fix for me.

Mine just stopped working. But was only one I’ve had a problem with. Just bought a new one as a battery didn’t fix it.
the push button I have doesn’t work either
Do you have to have the hub for these to work or are they stand alone? I have most of my xiaomi stuff connected to my echo plus, would prefer not to have another hub
These look like the older mijia ones? Think the newer Aqara were better?
