Will it work with SmartThings? In theory it should

one review says yes

Works well with samsungs smart things - tested speed and sensitivity to other UK smoke alarms - on par with alerting - really good product
Cons:
none

are these IFTTT compatible ?? - I have Xiaomi bulb which work fine but I can't find any info on these

What is Xiamomi?

I wish the Xiaomi Gateway came in a UK plug version, the idea of having to plug it into a wall socket with an adaptor (where it would stick out a mile) is the only thing stopping me from getting one.

Everything these days has to be "smart" even water

Can you not just cut the wire and attach a UK plug? Don't have one myself so never seen what it looks like.

Ok to answer myself I've just googled the gateway and see the problem.

No, not via Xiaomi, but as it is Zigbee and connects to Samsung Smartthings you maybe able to get it to do something. Would not recommend IFTTT for a fire alarm.

My hubs work well sitting vertically on a visitor adapter, sitting on a UK 4 Gang.

I take it this is useless without the gateway?

Should still work as a standard smoke alarm. Just won't network.

XIAOMI is a Chinese Tech Company with a market value of circa 46 BILLION dollars. Started 7 years ago by 8 partners to produce and sell smartphones. They are now branching out into virtually every tech genre but specifically smart home tech. Now looking to expand into other locations including Europe. In my experience their products are generally top notch and very cheap for the tech you are getting. More here:

That doesn't mean smartness has no purpose. This is ideal for separate or detached buildings, even an attached garage, because it can trigger an alert in the main building or directly where you are. Usual linked systems are far more expensive.

I just posted a new deal if you're still looking for one. £18.06 when you buy through the app
