Ok so I typed "Give" rather than "Given" but it wasn't too hard to understand what I was asking - especially for anyone familiar with the warranty situation on Xiaomi phones (2 year warranty from UK official sellers rather than zero warranty from China deals) .....so I will try again.

Is it a 2 year warranty given it is from Laptops Direct?

Super hot if yes!

Reviews of it at £200 were good - what's the catch apart from a bloated interface?

Micro USB
No catch, just £15-20 cheaper than usual price to get rid of stock

Decent specs all round. Decent fullhd screen, possibly best processor in this price range from UK distribution . Cameras are decent as well and so is battery .Knowing Xiaomi it will receive updates for another year or two. Not much when it comes to cons especially at this price range. Wide notch, no nfc.
wow great price - if they have it in stock - these guys have been known to sell products at low prices and have no stock and cancel the order.

It's USB-C

Oh OK Gsmarena said Micro in the review.

Yes as they are an official Xiaomi UK retailer

That is a totally inaccurate picture.

The one we bought from Xiaomi UK store a few months ago is micro USB. Definitely not C type

Voted hot, great phone for the money!

I have a Remi Note 4. I've had it a few years now and still works great.

Is it worth it upgrading to this?
Got the Note 5 brilliant phone (even got an update to Android Pie last night), so going to get this for my son who is due to start secondary school next year. I was going to wait until Black Friday but can't see i'll get anything better than this for the price and this will be a great first phone. Cheers OP

Same here, my RN4 is still going strong! Battery life is still great and it's plenty fast enough for what I need.

Still get tempted by some of the deals on here though . Currently just holding out until my RN4 stops working, because waiting even just a few months means there's price drops or newer models out for the same price.

I wouldn't go for this one though as it's 3GB/32GB and my RN4 is 4GB/64GB.

My RN4 is 3GB/32GB.

Just wondered if it's worth upgrading.

Anyone thinks this phone is going even more cheaper on black firday

Thanks for telling us.
No NFC I'm guessing?
So whats the difference between the standard version and the Pro?
Just got the 4/64 version on Ebay for £119 with FREEEE postage.

2 left if anyone interested
So tempted to buy this deal! surely theres not gunna be a better deal over black friday right?
I can't begin to understand these Xiaomi ranges but did see another similarly priced model, the A2, priced below £100 which does have 4Gb/64Gb. I guess the screen is smaller for starters but don't know on the rest of the features:
hotukdeals.com/com…469

I went for a Huawei P Smart 2019 for £109 (inc £10 top-up) at giffgaff. Decent specs all round and NFC:

They go in and out of stock so keep checking.
Is this a UK spec'd phone or global phone with Chinese bloatware?
Bought this for my son to replace his almost 3 year old Huawei P9 Lite.......... He doesn't rate this much, bit laggy. Was £106 I think from Xiaomi UK (courtesy of @Mrswitch)

Xiaomi-mi-a2 4gb version you saw was grade B from ebay, this one is brand new with 2years warranty so not fair to compare really...

No, the original thread was. Someone found a like to an eBay seller with 'New - open box' ones if you read down the comments.

I disagree, the MIUI OS is great, I wouldn't consider it bloated at all.
