Excellent deal thanks, I'm getting one, dropped my Redmi 3 down the toilet yesterday.

Edit
It does still work but I believe these things some times take a while to die after being submerged

Sorry about your phone Thinking of recommending this one to my sister, she has an ancient Xperia T that's getting very laggy.

I have had a phone (dumbphone Sony Ericsson) that had water damage (it had a kickstand but somehow went plop into the bath)...I did the dry rice remedy overnight in a warm cupboard which seemed to bring it back to life, but after a few weeks the earpiece started to go. Eventually it did die, it just did it slowly.

Apologies, just checked and it seems it's only the Golden colour that works with code Erenop. Changed the title.
Remember it won't work on o2 and Vodafone on 4G as it doesn't support band 20 (800mhz)

might be worth noting this is NOT the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro that has been popular recently.
What is the maximum fee for import/custom tax?

What's the difference?
You can get this for less (£108) elsewhere. I think you're better off paying £5 more and getting the international Global ROM version which has Play installed and all the local / regional Chinese apps removed.

Was there any way to unlock more 4G bands for UK?

What's the difference?

mostly the screen size

Redmi 3 Pro is 5" 720p
Redmi Note 3 Pro is 5.5" 1080p

What is the maximum fee for import/custom tax?

20% VAT + handling fee. About total £30.50 inc RM handling fee; will be slightly more via couriers.
There are HUKD members who near-guarantee that marked-down items from Gearbest will not be pulled for import fees when using standard delivery. Buyers' choice/risk.
Can I ask what software to people use to check for possible Chinese malware on these Gearbest phones?
Long shot but has anyone had this and the Xiaomi mi4i?

I have the mi4i now which i really like but do sometimes run out of battery on an evening (So the extra 30 odd % with the redmi 3 would help)

Thanks

A better processor on the Redmi Note 3 Pro also (snapdragon 650 as opposed to 616 on the Redmi 3 Pro).

I guess AliExpress. Kimovil.com is a good Chinese smartphone price comparison site. Although don't use their link, see if there is Quidco available and go through them. AliExpress are on Quidco, for instance.

This phone is 115 quid from Banggood and they offer 6.3% cashback at topcashback and IME a 'better' buying experience than GearBest.

where can you get the international version?
should I get this phone or , lg g3 or Samsung s5
This is a great phone I got one off Ali Express for a little cheaper and a different colour, it came in about two weeks and I've checked it's genuine which it is

However this is my second redmi 3 after the screen of my first reminder 3 broke in my pocket when doing day the screen didn't crack but the inside went all messed up, so they are a little fragile!

My Galaxy S5 never missed a beat. I kinda regret getting rid of it which was only because of the cheap feel to it. If I had the time again I'd get an S5 and a nice case.

Bizarrely, it seems cheaper?

You need to consult a doctor about the cheap feeling in your hand, it is a degenerative nervous disease called "enviatis".

Makes no sense at all, was it a joke?

Why pay more for someone to put a rom on that not only can you not vouch for them not messing around but you can out the Xiaomi eu rom on yourself, for free?
Get the standard one from your preferred trusted vendor, unlock bootloader and bung on the eu rom yourself.

4g on Vodafone can't be unlocked by any tweaks known presently.

Different strokes for different folk.

If you want to release your inner geek, then by all means install whatever ROM you want on it. For most people, they'd rather have the phone ready to go out of the box and use the time saved to spend on more interesting pursuits.

Ali is a bit like Amazon Marketplace in that you get different 3rd party sellers. No idea what the different vendors are like but I got mine from Ali / Hong Kong Goldway (who have decent feedback score on Ali).

Is this only standard delivery? I was thinking of getting the DHL delivery, would I be a lot more likely to get taxed then?

Generally if you use a courier like DHL, you're more likely to get nabbed as there has to be custom declaration on the package.

So is it better to get this or the International version on AliExpress? (AliExpress Redmi 3) Does the "Internationa Version" mean that it will come unsealed? Really tempted by this
