Cue some bright spark helpfully instructing you to spend more money because then you can get a higher end phone shortly before the thread gets derailed arguing if the markup for buying indirectly from China is worth it.

At least we won't have to have the protracted B20 discussion.

Heat BTW

Good price. I ordered one of these in mid November from GearBest (Xmas gift). It's not yet arrived with the UK courier. Not impressed!

Shame as I've ordered from GB before and, whilst it's been slow, it's never been this slow.

Any deals on the 4X Global?
Standard price now for these considering these "flash sales" are on more than they are not. Good phone but prices have to come down, they've been at this level for months now. The difference in getting from EU shipped is generally small enough not to bother with an Asian import. The newer 5 series which has replaced these is also marginally more, the 5A is essentially a 4X replacement, so I no longer recommend 4A/4X at current pricing.

3 orders with Gearbest around the same time as you, 1 has arrived but the others (including phone) have not. Not hopeful for xmas.
Not really a great price. A quick search on google shows the 5A version available for £20 more. Title "Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Prime Smartphone 5.5" 64GB Octa Core CPU 4GB RAM 16MP Cam"

But I knowledge if your after a cheap phone....

Another gearworst deal, no warranty, cold
Still waiting for my lightinthebox one I ordered. Was promised by the seller it'd arrive by Xmas but they took 12 days "preparing" the package for shipment.

Can't comment on the phone, got it for my mum to use to replace her rubbish windows mobile phone.

Same, ordered the Note for a present, no sign of it. No tracking either
Gearbest is quite possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with. I ordered a phone a 8 weeks ago, no sight, no mention, no word... 3 weeks later, I CONTACTED THEM. I asked about my phone which they said had now gone out of stock with no idea if and when it will be back in stock. Thanks for the update - we'll wait around for you, shall we?
They asked me to choose another phone or refund - I chose another phone - which appeared in stock - 24 hours later: "Sorry, it's out of stock"
I chose another phone - again apparently in stock... "Sorry, this phone is out of stock"
It was now a clear month after my initial order. No compensation - Just "Read our terms and conditions"
I got the money back and ordered elsewhere
Moral of the story - this isn't really a deal if you can't get it. The time/effort/hassle of dealing with Gearbest over several weeks was disgusting.
A deal = order product and get it. Not "we'll entice you with a price and take the biscuit!"

Good luck if you do buy....

There may be delays before the tracking information is updated online as well.

The 5A has the same processor as the 4A and is in no way a replacement for the 4X. The 4X has better processor, better gpu, fingerprint scanner and a better camera.

The 5A 2GB version also scored lower with Antutu than the 4A (32k v 36k).
......... plus customs duty
If you can find the same deal on the xiaomi AliExpress shop use that. 5 days from ordering to my house and no customs charges.

Just keep in mind that you're not buying direct from Xiaomi.

Are you if you order from GearBest? Genuine question.

No, they are a reseller, as are the ones on Aliexpress. Problem is, names like 'xiaomi online store' give the impression that you are buying direct from the manufacturer, but you aren't. They are safe places to shop, though.

Not sure you'd get the 64gb for £20 more. Likely that's the 16gb 2gb ram version.
Redmi 4a is a good little phone. Bought for my mum in September.

For this price can't go wrong. Decent screen, better battery than a UK price equivalent.

Does a solid job.
Great Phone, another WOEFUL company - heat for the deal but beware of this company!

100 euros is around 90 pounds now isn't it? It's not 1.5/1.6 Euros to the pound anymore!

I bought the above phone for myself in the summer from Gearbest and it came in less than two weeks and had detailed tracking. Ordered many times from these without a problem. Might have to use lightinthebox from now on.

To be honest they all have their negatives. It took Lightinthebox am absolute age to actually ship the phone!

True. I'm not even convinced these even have shipped this one. Refund time I think.

You are right but there are many people who like to know they have some back up. As I said, another option.

In an effort to get gearbest to sort issues some info for everyone.
I have bought lots of stuff from them and generally good, but when it goes wrong its a mountain to climb.

However recent android box went wrong. First remote then box. Gearbest customer service woes started.
Offered a couple of quid refund and no joy, or even understanding of English through gearbest ticket system, next to useless.
Escalated to paypal, eventually full offer of refund.
Eventually through paypal offered a UK return address for info (gearbest ticket system contradicted what they were saying through paypal)

They then repeatedly refused delivery from courier. One could interpret this as a device to 'pretend' to offer refund then refuse to accept the returned goods. No goods return=no refund to pay.
Only when I refused final paltry offer from through paypal, (after they had previously offered full refund) did the return that mysteriously had been repeatedly rejected, was now accepted, on the day Paypal ruled in my favour for full return of money.
coincidence?
doubtful.

So if everyone uses paypal for payment and escalation, keeps full records, they will compel gearbest to fully refund. If everyone does this then maybe gearbest will sort it properly.
Hope this helps.
rdmi4a code brings it to £68 for the global version in grey.
